There Is Always Room For One More: Volga German Stories And Recipes

I love this book! I now have some of the forgotten recipes for the wonderful foods my grandmother & mother made when I was growing up. I remember the Dena Kucha I mom made and the glese.

Many of the recipes in this book are recipes that I grew up on and they bring back many fond memories. I neglected to ask my mother and aunts to write down the recipes so thought they were long gone. A friend suggested this book just for the family history, which is very entertaining but the recipes are priceless to this 2nd generation American.

Hard to put down!

Delightful book brining back to me many memories as I too am a descendant of family who migrated from the steppes of the Volga to live and farm in the North Platte

Very well done and being a second generation Volga river descendant, the story of life on the steps that I've heard from my Ancestors was pretty much the same. My folks left before times really got hard. The recipes brought back very good memories. All the women of the Volga were very good cooks, at least all the lady's I knew. The book made me relive the stories I've heard thru the years.

Reminded me of growing up on a beet farm. Love the treasure of recipes from my past also.
