74VN - Essentials for Strings - Violin

This is an excellent book for getting a better understanding of bowing and rhythm. I have incorporated the lessons in this book as part of my daily warmup.

I used this book when I was in middle/high school orchestra. It has scales one through three octave and some great rhythm exercises. Now that I'm a violin teacher I require my students to have this book. It is not daunting to the intermediate player and is still useful for the more advanced. I consider it a staple for any learning string musician.

Great book for beginners!

Great book for starters and for those who don't know the scales *cough* *cough*.

Has one octave, two octave, and three octave scales with some pieces in the very back. Also includes methods for practicing. Some of the fingerings for shifting are a little strange, but overall a great book
