Panel for quilt - no longer produced, waste of $$!
Is a nice book but had I known that it relies on printed fabric panels, I would not have purchased. Panels are produced for limited times, so for the cover quilt that I wanted to make, the panel is no longer available.

Back in my hands again
This is my favourite quilting book and I have used it many times. I recently moved interstate and somehow my copy got lost or left behind. I was delighted to see that I could get it through Amazon without having to physically go looking, and the service I have had from Amazon regarding delivery time has been most impressive. It was here within ten days. Anyway, back to the product. This book gives patterns for exquisite projects and easy directions, suggestions for fabrics and I just love it. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in quilting with Japanese fabrics. Lovely wall hangings, bags and quilts.

Easy Japanese Quilt Style
Several of my customers (Homestead Quilts,Bethel CT) showed me this book and were interested in having one of our teachers give classes featuring several projects from the book. I looked through it. I am not a fan of Oriental Style quilts, bags or decor. I was very pleasantly surprised when I took the time to peruse this book. I bought several copies and gave them as holiday gifts to fellow sewer and quilter friends of mine. With their books in hand and after a couple of emails to said teacher,a class was formed. I even made one of the bags (in Oriental fabrics) and gave it as a gift to a friend

Sew Fun!
Love this book! It has really nice gift ideas as well as items you might like for yourself. The one weakness that I have found is sometimes the directions are not as complete as they could be. American patterns generally give complete step by step directions. This one seems more European or I guess Japanese(imagine that). It seems to assume that you will know certain things. Even with that draw back I gave this a five star because I do feel the ideas are fun and inspiring!

Great patterns!
The book itself is worth buying. Did not like the idea to pay as much for the shipping as the price of the book even though I have a prime membership with Amazon. Next time I will have to read the text carefully while ordering on Amazon!

Asian Quilt Book
I have collected so many different Asian fabrics and have not been successful in finding patterns for them. This book has been an absolute find if you want to Asian type quilting. I was so happy I found it.

Easy Japanese Quilt Style
I was looking for a book on how to use Japanese fabric, with its bold colors and large, complex prints to its best advantage. This book offers projects that do that, with clear instructions, very helpful additional hints and excellent close-up photos. The variety of projects is inspiring and can allow me to adapt my own ideas to them. I found an excellent book.Christine Hagen

Not just quilts - a wonderful little book of Japanese treasures to keep you interested for ages!
I bought this book for my mum for her birthday as she's both interested in quilting AND Japanese themed items and the title promised both of these things but I didnt take advantage of the "read inside the book" online facility before I bought it (I didn't spot it before I bought it!) but upon receiving it I had a quick look through it and was quite delighted with the purchase! This little book isn't simply about quilts, it covers a multitude of subjects from quilts to wall-hangings and decorative objects, dollies to handbags/tote bags and cushions - all with a Japanese theme and all beautifully illustrated with full, illustrated instructions with full colour drawings and line diagrams. Although I'm no expert (I don't quilt/craft at all) it looks easy enough to follow for even a novice quilter/crafter to follow and certainly interesting and involving enough for the seasoned and hardened quilter/crafter to find something to interest him/her.All in all it's a charming, well-produced little book with nicely thought-out projects which is a treat to read through and well worth the money. Highly recommended, especially for Japanophiles!! :-)

It has a variety of quilts and bag ideas.
It has some examples of Japanese style projects to inspire ideas.. I would have preferred the addition of some Japanese block ideas too. But it is a good book, worth having if you like Japanese fabric as much as I do.

Inspirational
This delightful little book is a joy to own. The designs provide something for everyone from small projects to bed quilts achievable by quilters of varying ability. The well illustrated instructions and templates leave nothing to chance if you wish to follow the projects to the letter. And if you want to venture into having a go at developing your own designs, then this book could well be the spring board for doing so, simply because it is truly inspirational. It was showing this book to my students that sent them scurrying to buy Japanese fabric and me dashing to the warehouse to ensure that we had some in stock. It is truly a hidden gem that will stand proudly on my bookshelf when not in use. I will not be passing this one on!
