Luxuredown White Goose Down Pillow, Medium Firm (Standard Set of 2)

I have been a goose down pillows user for decades. I bought this one as a replacement for an old one with great expectations because of lots of good reviews. When it arrived, I thought this might be the one I was looking for. Good Amount of fill, medium firm fluffy density yet comfortably soft. BUT, I will learn I was wrong. It has really a BAD SMELL. Used once for a 30 minutes nap for a test purpose and had a headache.

I am really excited about this goose down (medium firmness) pillow. It arrived yesterday, so I have only slept on it one night. But I think it meets my needs perfectly. I have been sleeping on 100 percent goose down pillows for 25 years. I recently decided to scrap all of my pillows and get new ones. I use two pillows and I have two homes, so I recently purchased four new pillows, all in the $70 - $95 range. I think this one was the most expensive, but it may just be my favorite. All four of the pillows I recently bought are different and I bought three of them from Amazon. The other two from Amazon are another goose down pillow but in firm and the Sleep Better Iso-Cool Memory Foam Pillow. I also bought a Stearns and Foster side sleeper at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I am happy with all of them in different ways, but I think this one may be the best one. The firm goose down pillow is a bit too firm for me. The Iso-Cool pillow is the heaviest, and has an interesting feel when I put my head on it (I would put this one in 2nd place).I just love the softer feel of the goose down pillows and the way they bounce back into shape with just a quick fluff. I was reluctant to buy this one at first, because the description didn't say 100% goose down. But I posted a question and a few people answered that it does appear to be all goose down and no feathers, so I took a chance. I am 100% satisfied with the feel of the pillow and I think the medium firmness is perfect. The pillow appears to be well made and is large and fluffy. It didn't sag at all during the night and hardly needed any fluffing up this morning. Hopefully I can stop buying pillows for awhile ... it is getting expensive, but very much worth it when considering how important getting a good night's sleep is.

Buying this pillow was the worst nightmare. I have neck pain and headaches, so I decided to invest a lot of money in a pillow that promised the best. The first month, everything was fine. But soon after the return period was over, the pillow began to get flat after 10 minutes it is under my head. Totally flat! If you want a pillow for more than a month, do not buy this pillow. I wrote to the company and told them what had happened. They said it was out of the returning period, so, that's not their problem anymore. I wish I had read about this in the previous reviews. This was one of the worst purchases I have ever done.

I bought this on January 4, 2019 and it is already worn out and stinks. I must fold it several times just to get my head off the bed. It started to smell bad, so I put it in the sun for several hours and that did not help. Then I researched how to wash a down pillow. That really made it smell bad and made all the bedding smell bad. I thought it was going to make me throw up. I don't know how they processed the feathers or whether they are genuine goose down feathers, but I have never had a goose down pillow turn into a stink bomb before.

I love this pillow. I sleep on my side, and I wanted to avoid a down pillow, but after buying multiple hypoallergenic, foam, and regular filled pillows, I realized that they were just too firm for me. This is perfect. Your head sinks down, but the pillow forms to your head and neck, so it gives the correct support. It's the type of pillow that you can stomach sleep, and get half on it and it will smush under your body and form to everything, keeping your head/neck comfortable. It's exactly what I needed. I have a fluffy pillow for TV watching, but I push that out of the way and use this to sleep. My significant other has taken to trying to steal my spot because he wants this pillow. Anytime he sleeps and I am not in there, he sleeps on my pillow. I finally broke down and got him one. Even my dog wants to sleep on there. I've had cheaper down pillows, but those felt lumpy. This one is not lumpy.

My husband has complained of neck and back pain for the last several years. He associates the pain with his pillows. Periodically buying new pillows has been expensive and has not helped. After trying many pillows, my chiropractor recommended this pillow to me. I'm a petite female, and other pillows were just too much for me - I'd end up waking up very stiff and sore. I'm a side sleeper that ends up rolling onto my back during the night. This pillow can be shaped to the right height for my neck. I woke up after using it for the first time with no pain, and after using it for 2 months, I'm still very pleased with how well I sleep and how I feel in the mornings.

I have purchased many down pillows over the past forty years. I used to have them cleaned and restuffed professionally, but in Hawaii that is not an option. This is a "Made in U.S.A." quality product and really has 650 fill of pure goose down. It really is medium firm to firm. You can order less expensive products (most come from China and I have bought those too), but they will have 550 fill at most (which is not firm, so don't be fooled). The 650 fill is excellent for a back and side sleeper. Very satisfied with this purchase. You are wise to purchase a pillow protector cover when buying this quality product. Even though you actually can machine wash down pillows, mild detergent, no bleach and then dry in the dryer with tennis balls (will take at minimum 5-6 hrs.), the protector cover will save you this step for many years. Fluffing it in the dryer periodically, however, is a good thing.
