I don't remember them being made with this material.
I remember them being more flexible and thicker. These seem to be more like a plastic material. But my original one's were bought in the late 90's. Not a bad shoe but I will not purchase again..and they took ALOT longer to arrive.

Sadly much too wide.
Bought these direct from Birkenstock, hoping the width would be okay. They recommend size 7 select a 38, not my usual 37. Like putting my feet in buckets. For wide feet, these could be a keeper in a smaller size. They are well made.

Great shoes overall with sizing concerns
Too big. Size 39 is way too big in the Profi-Birki. I returned because I wanted the cork insoles and discovered that the 39 fits like a glove for a size 8 foot and the cork insole is amazing. The size 39 in the Profi-Birki fits much more like a size 9+ female shoe, imo. Overall Birks are great shoes period!
