Perfect Size for Most Cats — Easy to Use
The Greenies Feline Pill Pockets Treats for Cats, Salmon Flavor (1.6 oz, 45 Count, Pack of 6) are a great size for most cats. Each pocket is big enough to easily wrap around small or medium pills without splitting, yet not so large that my cats struggled to eat them. They’re bite-sized and convenient, making it simple to give medication or use them as regular treats. Overall, the size is just right for everyday use with cats of various sizes.

Some of My Cats Like These
These Greenies Salmon Pill Pockets are a great way to give cats a pill, if they will eat them. Some of my cats gobble these down, and never realize there's a pill inside the treat. Other cats of mine eat around the pill, and spit the pill out. I would recommend these to anyone who has to give pills to a cat. It's worth trying this first, before you try jamming the pill down their throat. It's less stressful to the cat.

they're still pretty good at faking him out
This is much easier than shoving the pills down my cat's throat! Now, it's been about a year and though I was certain he'd catch on quickly, they're still pretty good at faking him out. He does sometimes realize there's a half-pill hidden inside and then he'll eat the treat and leave the pill on the floor, so I have to be on the lookout for that. I give him about 2-3 treats at a time, and only one has the half-pill inside, to keep him on his toes. Also, my cat is incredibly picky about food and has troubles with his appetite, but he still mostly likes these after a year. I'm really pleased with them. Update: It's now a couple of years later and my original pill-eating cat has passed away. I have two new cats, and one of them has a urinary problem with crystals. He has some anti-spasm medicine he needs to take for a while, and the capsules are HUGE! Way too huge to fit in a pill pocket. I took two of them and molded them around the capsule but the thing was like an inch long and very thick, I figured there was no way he would eat it. He's not even overly fond of salmon flavor. But he did! Scarfed it up in about 30 seconds flat. Tip: If yours are crumbly and hard to mold around the pill, they're probably expired or else were improperly stored. They should be soft, a bit moist, and easily malleable.

No Bitter Pill, This
Yes, worth every penny if you have a cat like my spirited black Ketzel. My calico will let me pry open her jaws and pop a pill to the back (love to see that tongue touch that little pink nose-- the "all clear" sign for pill-givers). But rogue Ketzel (who needs sedation for nail-cutting-- my fault for letting him get away with it as a kitten), will have none of this. I drop the pill into the pill pocket, wedge it in place with a twist-tie and seal the top, and he can't wait. Sometimes if I don't pay attention to my work, he'll snag the Pill Pocket before I get the pill in! At first, I wasted a few because he figured out how to eat around the pill. Eventually I learned to make sure the pill was embedded deep inside. As others have noted, he's ready for his pill every time. This cat has mild renal disease and is on a specialty diet (Purina NF Renal Formula). The nutritional contents of the Pill Pockets are not listed on the Pill Pocket package, so I confirmed with my vet that it's okay for Ketzel to have the 2 Pill Pockets per day. You might want to check with YOUR vet, especially if your cat is more acute or sicker. On the other hand, if you can't get the medicine in any other way, the additional salt, protein, or whatever else is in the Pill Pockets probably doesn't matter. I've bought the six-pack to save a little money and time.

Great product, but 6 pack is a bad idea.
My cats eat these like candy - perfect for giving pills as both cats are on meds. The person who invented these should be a millionaire. I gave this 2* as it was a six pack. As I opened these, despite the fact they were all sealed, they were a bit dry and lacked the smell the cats liked. I managed to use them all, but it was hard - needs to "pill" them the old fashioned way. I now buy them from one of two local pet stores who matched Amazon's single bag price. They are always fresh and the BEST way to give my cats meds.

Cat loves them, and they don't upset his IBD/allergies
Short version: my cat gobbles these down like treats. I am so happy to have discovered them. Long version, possibly TMI: My cat has something funky going on with his GI tract; we've narrowed it down to either IBD, allergies, or some combination of both. I've tried everything, and it seems ultimately that what he needs is a strict diet of Hills Prescription Diet I/D and a daily dose of Metronidazole, which comes in liquid or pill form and either way is extremely bitter. He will not take the liquid, even when it's compounded with meat flavoring--he starts drooling in anticipation when I fill the syringe so that it all runs out his mouth even when I hold it shut. Clever little bastard. The pills are cut in quarters, so I can only imagine trying to force those jagged edges, not to mention the uncoated sides, down his throat. But these? He loves these. He eats them right out of my hand, no forcing required. They're cup-shaped and are approximately the texture and stickiness of Play-Doh, so it's easy to mold them around the pill and make the whole thing smooth and round so it's easy to swallow without chewing. Each Pill Pocket is about twice as much as I need to coat these small pills, so I pinch off the excess to make it as little as possible, so he doesn't bite into it and discover the nasty surprise inside. If I were trying to save money, I suppose I could keep the excess for the next day. But I usually just ball it up and give it to him after he swallows the half with the pill, to make sure it all goes down. Once he ate around the pill and spat it back out, but I tried again with the same pill in a second pill pocket, and this time he swallowed it. We haven't had any issues since. Also, I was wary that, since almost every brand of food on the market makes him sick, these might have the same effect, but so far everything seems to be working.

It really works
It really works and hides their medication if they need to take.

On s'entend que je n'y ai pas goûté. LOL Mais ma chatte aime la saveur de saumon. Plus facile de lui donner son médicament.

An ideal way to give pills to your finicky cat or dog.
