This made my daughter happy
This made my daughter happy once again after something upset her earlier in the day! This story also helped us with this very bad quarantine. It was named COVID-19!!!!!!! I Hate it we have to do social distancing! That means we can’t be by much people we have to stay away from people to try not to get the sickness, so me and my family are staying and not going to any crowded areas. Stay safe and keep writing books see you again sometime!! P.S My mom is a psychologist and owns several of your other books including the angry octopus and the sea otter. Bye Stay safe and we’ll see you sometime soon bye bye!!!!!!!

A fine introduction to affirmations for children
Sweet book. My child loves sea creatures & has been struggling with negative self-talk. His teacher loaned us this book & after a few days I decided we needed our own copy. The idea of a “sea child” is a little odd (& seems an unnecessary character to me), but it’s a sweet introduction to affirmations & my child seems happier/calmer after using it awhile.

Great Confidence Booster for Kids
My 6 1/2-year old's teacher recommended Lori Lite's books because he's a very sensitive child who takes absolutely everything quite personally. This has quickly become his favorite of our Lori Lite collection; as the crab weaves each affirmation, my son repeats them. He loves hearing this book right before bed as his good-night story! I think it's really helping him build up his self-confidence so that he doesn't always feel so crushed by life's little disappointments. I recommend this to anyone with a child who is sensitive, or prone to excessive sulking, or hard to pull out of a funk.

Love These books
My daughter had a lot of anxiety when she started school. I was very concerned and looking for a way to help her. I found these books by Lori Lite and ordered a bunch.I love this book that helps kids believe in themselves and gives them more confidence. I thinks children today are put under so much pressure, looking at my daughters class their are so many kids biting nails, twisting hair, biting lips all nervous behaviors. Kids need to be kids and I think relaxation activities and other therapies need to be utilized.I think these days children are put under so much pressure. It is easy to just ignore their struggles but as parents we have to find ways to help them. I am glad I found Lori Lite.

For younger kids; one affirmation off
This is a nice book, but not for an 11-year-old. I would say 8 or 9 and younger. Also, one of the affirmations is "I learn easily." While that's lovely, I'm not so sure that's a wise inclusion, as many parents who might be buying this book are looking to build self-esteem in their children with learning differences or learning disabilities. Why remind the kids of difficulties they have during the day? The author might be wise to delete that page in future editions. You can't fool a kid who has had years of academic difficulties that he "learns easily." Nor would you want to invalidate his experience.

Too Repetitive
Of the two Lori Lite books I recently purchased, I decided to return this one. It just didn't meet our needs or engage my son like the other story did, the other book being Angry Octopus. I found the story to be a little too long, and very repetitive, and as such by the time we finished reading it my child had already moved on to another train of thought. I wanted a book like this to be simple and powerful, getting right to the point of encouraging positive self esteem and affirming thoughts. This book just didn't seem to perform that task very well. The story was just too scattered, and didn't really use language that directly described the actions taking place - to put it another way, it was too hippy new-age in it's execution. I will qualify that by saying we are a very liberal, love/peace-driven family, and I have no problem with new age concepts or more unconventional parenting ideas. But when I couldn't even follow the story, I knew it would be a struggle for my son. As such, I knew it would be a frustrating read for us, and not really serve the purpose for which it was designed. And so for this family, it is better off being returned so we can focus on the stories we really enjoy.

Not the best tool out there for self esteem with kids
I'm a child therapist and I can use this with younger girls only. The boys look at me when I'm crazy if I pull this book out. The age window for using it is very slim which makes it less useful. They are either too young to understand what is happening in the book or too old and feel like it is juvenile which makes them uncomfortable and shut down so they feel infantilized and don't think they are being respected.

Excellent book to build up a childs confidence in self.
One of the best books you can get your child. We began reading this to our daughter when she was a toddler. She is now in kindergarten and reads it herself often. It teaches her how to have confidence and believe in herself!

not a good choice for Kindle
I downloaded this on my Kindle after reading the other reader comments. Although I do not have issues with the written content of the book, I do have with the format in Kindle. Obviously there is no colour which makes the book less interesting to children. The pages appear to be photgraphed or copied directly, and there is no way the font can be enlarged. I had great difficulies with the excrutiating small font and so did my son, this took the pleasure out of reading it.The format taken by Kindle is to capture the page of the book on half of the Kindle page- ridiculous! One disappointed mum here :-(

Raising Conscious Kids
I am in love with the work of Lori Lite. When school focuses so much on intellectual knowledge, I have found essential to also help my children discover their inner wisdom to navigate life's various challenges. In that sense, the Indigo CDs and books are such a wonderful way to gently introduce children to the power of their thoughts, giving them an opportunity to understand that they can be the '' boss of their emotions'. My four years old daughter really love the Affirmation Weaver story: she will simply listen to it over and over again and walk around the house saying that '' I am creative'', '' I learn easily'' or '' I feel good about myself''. Reading the Affirmation Weaver with my 6 years old boy has helped me boost his self esteem by focusing on his positive attributes at a time where he was worried that he was one of the smallest boy in his class. I highly recommend both the Affirmation Weaver book and the Indigo CD. They work beautifully together.

Not for my girls.....
Sorry it didn't work for us - my older daughter (8) saw right through the book and mentally switched off to any message being delivered. My younger one (6) didn't seem too excited and found it repetitive, which it is.

The story is not interesting
The story is too dull. My kids did not interested or involved in the story at all. I liked the idea of the affirmation they need to repeat with themselves but the logic behind it was not strong enough to convince even a 4 years old boy. I liked the drawing etc but it was not definitely what I was looking for.
