For what it is, what a toy!
Got it for my little son to use as a prop as part of our Alice in Wonderland themed Halloween costumes, but he ended up enjoying playing with it well before and after the day! (Obviously, supervise, as kazoos are probably intended for older kids and the little black mouthpiece falls out easily with enough rough play/throwing lol). It looks legit from far away and it’s a good quality kazoo. We’ve had a lot of fun with it for something that was meant for 3 minutes/taking a picture on Halloween.

Basic costume accessory
We bought this for a funny gift to a friend, which seems to be exactly what it's intended for- a small, basic, costume-store quality toy. Not super high quality, the kazoo isn't outstanding, but it's not like this is a real trumpet, so it does what it needs to do.

Total junk - had the protective paper but no reed, no sound, useless.
I didn't expect a real instrument here, but this isn't even a playable kazoo, and doesn't even use a standard kazoo reed - I tried. The six bucks isn't a big deal but it does a total disservice to any child gets this as a first kazoo … for the rest of their life they'll remember that a kazoo "doesn't make any notable sound" … never touch it again. That's incorrect and unfair. I teach harmonica and, to a much lesser extent, kazoo, to folks who want to be street performers and have no other musical training or skills. With the right attitude and a bit of effort, many do quite well (although Covid pretty much put the kybosh on street crowds and especially windblown instruments, but that won't last forever); a bad toy like this one wouldn't work and would have them give up the whole idea - a shame. I don't blame the seller or any of the distribution network - didn't even return it; it's still a cute display toy - but the manufacture should have better ethics. Get a regular kazoo, maybe use it to replace the mouthpiece in an old instrument, but don't waste your money on this toy. P.S. If you're not getting an interesting sound out of a kazoo, don't just "huum, huum, with an "h"; instead, articulate with a "di-di-di, dat-dat," etc. Pretend you're channeling some of the old big band artists with short passages from tunes like "Don't get around much anymore," "Chatanooga choo-choo," etc. Wikipedia has an interesting entry on professional kazoo use. A simple instrument, easy to play, indeed; but it doesn't need to be strictly a joke or, as in this case, nothing at all.

Great prop, terrible kazoo
The kazoo function doesn't work, but that doesn't matter for my purpose. I am setting up a skeleton band as part of a Halloween light show at my house, and this thing was the perfect size prop for a 3-ft skeleton. It looks like a real instrument, and seems sturdy enough to handle the elements outside.

Kazoo Part Does not Work
For the price I am not too upset by this product. HOWEVER, when it arrived to me the actual box was sealed but the plastic packaging the trumpet was in was open which I found strange. The kazoo element did not work off the bat which was kind of annoying but I bought the item for a costume so it was more for the look of it than anything. Visually the trumpet looks nice, super light and fun to have. Overall it was a pretty mediocre product.

Cute trumpet!
This is a cute little trumpet! I bought it for my son so his "Ducky" could "play" trumpet with him. He was having a rough time getting motivated to practice, so I thought having his "best friend" with him, it might help. He loves to play trumpet with his Duck. The trumpet is very durable, it's been through a lot and still works just fine.

Perfect Table Prop
Disclaimer** I am not sure how these function as a kazoo. I purchased these solely as centerpiece decor for a party and they helped me achieve my decor vision. The color is a vibrant metallic and doesn’t look too inexpensive.

The Good, Bad, and Overall...
The Good: Light weight. The Bad: Paint flaking off the bell while still in the package. (Very disappointing) Seller must of seen it and just went 'Meh' and mailed anyway. Overall: I can touch up the bell and I will use it for a puppet to play; hence the light weight comment. This is more of a $1 store item and not worth much more than that.

This was absolutely horrible I felt completely ripped off. At first when I opened it I thought ‘Alright so it looks cheap but maybe it will be okay.’ It wasn’t. The only way to get a sound (other than your own singing/ humming) is to buzz the ‘mouthpiece’ as if it were on an actual trumpet even then it sounds horrible! I think that the only practical use for this would be to buy it as a prop for a play or something even though it’s nearly 1/4 sized

It's okay, but the kazoo is very quiet
