tight
these things are tight.i bought them for my dad, he wore a pair once and gave them back to me, he said they were too tight for him.i wore em once to work for 8 hours to try em out, i didn't really feel em when i was wearing em, but when i got home and took the sock off, it was imprinted into my calf, a lot. i mean a lot, not just little dimples, but everywhere where the sock was was sucked in, it made it look like my foot was shrinking.(we're both size 11 us mens)

Good black socks
Just to be clear, these are not dress socks, but normal, black, cotton socks. They are great for the price. They're nothing fancy, but you get what you need with a sock. I needed higher socks to wear with my boots, and they work great. You do get some black fluff on your feet after a long day in them, but the same thing goes for my white socks, so, to me, that's to be expected. I recommend them.

Not terrible socks, but you can do better
I'm tempted to grade this one lower, not because it deserves it on it's own, but because there are other much better socks in this price range. The socks are fine, not the most comfortable and a little thing, but they're pretty cheap and you'll probably get what you're expecting from socks at this price level. Again, I've found better socks at roughly the same price if not a little cheaper.

Incredibly uncomfortable
These are presumably made of burlap, steel wool, and bees. I wondered if it was too inhumane to donate most of the unused package to Goodwill. The one pair I wore started to shred after one day and one wash cycle. I can't believe Fruit of the Loom continues to be a major brand, putting out products this terribly made. Do yourself a favor, spend a few extra dollars on something comfortable enough to actually wear.

Great price...super comfortable
I have to wear black socks to work, and I prefer cotton to a thin dress sock (those really make my feet sweat/stink). Most cotton ones leave LOTS of black stains and fuzz balls on my feet. Not the case with this brand. They're holding up great at this point and I have no complaints. Order with confidence!

So-so
I bought these socks based on the "Fruit of the Loom" brand name. But I have a hard time believing these are the same socks sold in the stores. As per the discussion and reviews, the material used and the finish of the socks are surprisingly rough. The sock were OK at best, but I'm certainly nor purchasing any more.

A Good Sock For Everyday Use
A bit small for my size 11 feet, but still fits enough to use, for the price its a good deal and they seem to last forever, haven't had any holes in them or any sock related issues. They are a bit warm in the summer, and I don't suggest them for exercise but for an everyday sock its a good product. Didn't have any issues with fuzz or black stains on feet either like some of the cheaper socks I have bought on Amazon.

Cotton is not a great material for socks
Cotton is not a great material for socks. I bought these because they were cheap, but I've since switched to Darn Tough socks and my feet thank me. For the price I guess they're okay, but it's worth it to spend the money for something better. If you upgrade your socks, your quality of life will improve dramatically.
