I was very disappointed in this book
I was very disappointed in this book,as a matter of fact I gave up on it.Pleased be advised this is my opinion and I was trying to get a grip on the basics connected with options.I'm sure they are their, but as a novice I felt any guidance offered in most cases it didn't jump out of the page at you. However, I didn't give up and at the advice of a previous reviewer I bought "Understanding Options" by Michel Sincere please see that review.

Well done
Everything was properly, and if anything, conservatively described. Worthy of a 5-star review. omooc

This book is not easy to follow
This book is not easy to follow. In the first chapter he is already telling you about issues in future chapters. In other words, he is jumping ahead so you lose track of where you are and what you are trying to focus on. This is not a book for dummies. It is for people who are already familiar with the terms and the language. If anybody has a recommendation on how to learn about calls and puts, please let me know. But, it MUST truly be for dummies. Amazing and Horrible all in one
PROS: There are some very exciting sections within this book that are sure to fire off all kinds of lucrative ideas within your head. Good to know how to work with options for varying market conditions.CONS: Not the easiest read. Looks like, but doesn't flow like other Trading/Finance Dummies books. It is not organized and structured the best. Examples are still rather theoretical in terms of time frames. Sometimes things are mentioned with no reference as to what is being talked about and moves on from there. You will likely find yourself re-reading some sections over and over again in order to fully understand what it is being said.

Good basic info and unbiased.
Planning to diversify my portfolio and wanted to learn a little bit about trading, so I got this book. As all "for Dummies" books, this book is easy to read and to follow. It gave me a good basic understanding of how trading works, with some good tips. It was unbiased, which I like, since there are so many trading strategies. Great Price and got it in 2 days with my Prime Membership. Highly recommend.

Excellent buy
I have worked through about half of the book but it does what I had hoped for. Unlike the 'pros' who write books this series assumes you know little about the subject. You get background and detailed explanations and definitions that most other books do not bother with. It will serve as a reference when I have finished. Excellent buy.

A goldmine. Worth way more than the cover price.
Excellent book. I already had a reasonable understanding of trading stocks, but was always struggling to get into options. This book gives good high-level overviews and detailed analyses of every aspect of options trading, most importantly, which ones to buy, when, and how. It includes useful background information, and info on the day-to-day practicalities. Honestly, it's like the scales have fallen from my eyes. Overall, the financial dummies books are great for beginners, and can get you up to speed in no time.

Great book for novice, maybe not absolute beginners with no finance background
A little more technical than I thought it would be, but I think it's good if you have some history with this stuff. You may feel overwhelmed just from the first section if you have absolutely no experience/idea what stock options are.
