This unit works very well and I was pleased with the the ease and operation of DMX with it. I do not own any incandescent lighting but several units that are LED and not DMX. This worked very well. For fixtures like the spotlight I was able to set the DMX value to 255 and it instantly comes on. Very helpful when programming light sequences and scenes. I really liked the reversible backplate on these. When you receive the unit it comes facing you. If you pull the black plate off (per directions) and reverse it you can quickly hang this right on the truss. I do not use any clamps for it. That was some smart thinking on Chauvet's part. I have used this for a few gigs now and while this is a bit pricey the unit performs very well for DMX.

I love these DMX dimmer packs. Two sockets per channel, easy setup, easy install. My favorite brand. As long as you do not need more than the 5A per channel and 15A overall load limits, you will be fine with these. Being able to plug them into any ordinary socket helps.

This dimmer was sold under a variety of brands which all look similar. These dimmers are actually fairly well designed, however, none of them are rated for continuous use at 20 amps. I own eight of them under various names, but all the same inside and am very happy with their performance, especially under low wattage loads. These dimmers will operate with only a 15W lamp, which is tough for a dimmer. Make sure when you get it that it is not the "New Version" which has a knob on the front and a rope-light output. This is a different design and does not work as well.
