A must-have for any Oils fan!
The Full Tank is, simply put, amazing. I've been an Oils fan since the late 80s when I first heard Diesel and Dust. I then set about collecting all of the albums, so I already had everything included in the set with the exception of 40,000 Watt, which is a DVD collection of their music videos. I was curious, though, about the remaster, which can be a hit or miss depending upon who is at the controls. A remaster that basically boosts the volume is a waste of time, and I would hate to pay this price for basically the same albums but louder in the transfer. I can assure you that this is a terrific remaster and well worth it. They took care to capture the nuances and layers while breathing new life into Midnight Oil's back catalogue. Buy with confidence whether you already have the albums, whether you're missing a few here and there, or whether you're new to Midnight Oil.One more comment: don't be scared off by lower reviews about 40,000 WATT being on DVD rather than Blu Ray. Keep in mind that these videos were shot before HD became the norm, so putting them on a Blu Ray disc would be pointless and prohibitively expensive. Frankly, I think the DVD transfer catches the nostalgia of watching these videos for the first time on tube TVs. More than likely, though, 40,000 WATT is a bonus because you're buying it for the remastered albums.

Good set, only 1 complaint.
This is a great band and a very good set of all their studio material (at the time). I just have one small complaint, which is there are no bonus tracks on the albums. This is rather petty of me considering that they are on the companion set The Overflow Tank, but I'm just one who likes it when the extra space is used.Anyway, the "tank" is nice, and the sleeves are not as flimsy as I expected, so I'm happy about that, though both are certainly not indestructible. The audio is very good, but I would only recommend the set for serious fans due to the price.

A must-have for fans
I already have all of Midnight Oil's albums on CD (and many on vinyl), but this was absolutely worthwhile for the wonderful packaging, the excellent included booklet, and the CD of all the music videos. this, along with the Overflow Tank set, literally bookend my extensive Midnight Oil collection.

Worth having and worth the wait...well done...
Finally, a year later, I get the first of the 2 CD Tank sets...waited for the prices to drop and they have. Being a massive Oils fan, I had to have these 2 Tanks...last year I saw the Oils on their worldwide tour, first time since 1997 and their reformation...and they never lost a step. Peter's solo record was the burst before the flood...I hope the Oils stay together and make some more new music...if not, what a catalogue and legacy!! I used to have all these on the original CDs in jewelcases (and later. Diesel & Dust in the anniversary remaster CD/DVD in digipack...so was Capricornia)...but this tank packaging is superb. Looks like an oversized coffeecan, but it really does the catalogue justice and is a nice display piece. Will be getting the companion "Overflow Tank" in a few weeks, but this is a good 1st one to have, to refamilarize yourself with their amazing catalogue of incendiary, punky, powerpoppy, political, Australian-flavoured rock & roll, 13 CDs (11 albums & 2 four-song EPs), and the 14th disc a DVD, "40,000 Watt RSL", an updated version of their 1997 collection & DVD of "20,000 Watt RSL", of a now-complete collection of music vidclips, from 1978 through 2002...the other set is 4 discs of unreleased and rare material and 8 DVDs of concerts, documentaries and more...good for that to go through second. The 13 CDs in order...CD1: 1978's self-titled, 7 song "Blue Meanie"...CD2: 1979's "Head Injuries"CD3: 1980's "Bird Noises" EPCD4: 1981's "Place Without A Postcard"CD5: 1982's "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1"CD6: 1984's "Red Sails In The Sunset"CD7: 1985's "Species Deceases" EPCD8: 1987's "Diesel And Dust"CD9: 1990's "Blue Sky Mining"CD10: 1993's "Earth And Sun And Moon"CD11: 1996's "Breathe"CD12: 1998's "Redneck Wonderland"CD13: 2002's "Capricornia"It IS worth the price, for priceless music...and I love how it's designed...full metal tank, top comes off, discs are in cardboard slipcases that are thin but loose inside, so the discs do not get scratched...opening at the top of each album, restored front & back covers, disc designs matching the front covers, all held with the 36-page, same-sized booklet in the middle of foam innards that is cut out at just the right size for all disc covers to be held in place nice and snug. The companion tank will serve as a cool bookend for any collection, really well-designed. And the booklet has a well-written essay, details, full credits and some cool photos...Very much worth it, period.

All Oil Fans Rejoice! Here it is...all Midnight Oil albums in one glorious tin water tank design! I own this thru a different retailer and have to share with the Amazon world how wonderful it is to own all the albums and they are masterfully produced for ultimate sound quality! GO GO OILS! See them live too!

Fantastic Remasters!
Great music beautifully remastered with outstanding packaging. For a true Oil fan, it is worth having even if you already own most or all of the albums. The extras are a nice bonus, but having the new CD packaging and remastered sound is fantastic and justifies the investment.

Very expensive but no regrets
Midnight Oil : The Full TankBought & shipped from Amazon Canada, January 2021I am a big fan of this band but I did not have any of their musicon CD, so this purchase made sense for me and I am happy with it.There are two problems, however:1. It is very expensive for what you get. The average price per diskis the same as what you would pay if you bought them individually. Ifyou already have some of these CDs it makes no sense to buy the setfor the missing titles.2. The packaging is annoying. I understand that the band is proud ofits legacy and wanted something special for their catalogue, but it'sreally just a coffee tin that doesn't fit into my disk storage shelves.I like the booklet and that they kept the original album artwork, but atthis price I expect more.A question I often see is "Which versions are we getting?". It seemssome of these disks have been remastered and released in more than oneversion in the past. Nothing to declare
Après la critique de Mystimoon qui a décortiqué ce trésor enfermé dans un baril qui rappelle bien sûr celui sur lequel Rob tape pendant ses ( très courts et géniaux ) solos de percussion . Tout est là même les EP, sauf les live (dont l'excellent officiel "Scream in blue, et surtout le formidable "Live and unplugged Calgary 93 " et au moins pour celui là c'est fort dommage ) . Ce coffret recouvre la période avant le Circle Tour donc les 3 albums suivants n' y figurent pas. Présentation minimaliste pochettes simples cartonnées, avec livret de 18 pages quelques photos sympas sobres. Des textes qui une fois de plus ne sont pas faciles à lire.. c'est pas Diesel and Dust (carrément illisibles) mais bon... Voilà c'est somptueux magnifique, évolutif, varié, un vrai groupe avec une âme... immense !!

Jetzt endlich alle mit vernünftigem Klang...
Vor allem die ersten CDs bis Red Sails haben nun endlich einen Sound der knallt. Bravo. Die CDs aus den 80ern waren ja gruselig. Auch wenn Place Without A Postcard etwas abfällt. Das scheint aber wohl an der damaligen Produktion zu liegen.Wieso hingegen Diesel&Dust nicht neu remastered wurde,sondern ein altes verwendet wurde...nur die Band wird es wissen. Jedenfalls macht es sich im Sound deutlich bemerkbar. Sie klingt leiser und weniger "klar". Sehr schade.Was mir noch fehlt ist ein ausführlicheres Booklet...da wäre doch mehr gegangen...Single Cover etc.pp..Und die DVD hätte ich auch nicht gebraucht...dafür wäre die "Chiko Locallo" schick gewesen. Gut hab ich jetzt im Download erstanden.Alles in allem fünf Sterne für geile zeitlose Musik...es gibt aber auch was zu beanstanden...bei dem Preis!
