Big
Whatever the rope is made out could use an upgrade, it has a lot of stretch so it curves and lowers to the ground easily, had two strings become damaged, one was rather quickly. The hammock material itself is really nice and sturdy feeling but very taught so skill is needed to to flip.

Perfect
Update after 1 summer: I still think this is a nice hammock, however after one summer of having it there appears to be mildew/dirt all over it. I just tried power washing it and it helped a little, however I wasn’t able to get it back to “like new”condition. Not sure if this would be a good choice for someone who lives in a highly humid area. There isn’t any reason it couldn’t have dried naturally with where it was in our yard, so that’s a little disappointing. Maybe not a long term option.Love the material of this hammock. Will definitely dry quickly and seems like it will wear well. I didn’t have any issues with the ropes being broken upon arrival but they are a cotton material rather than nylon so not sure how they will hold up but I’m not overly concerned given the price point of the hammock. So far so good. I can’t speak to longevity since I’ve only had it a week but I’m happy so far! Will definitely store indoors during winter to eliminate additional wear and tear from the elements.

My retirement plan
I want my investments to be safe and get the most bang for my buck. So, here’s why I chose “The Patio Watcher”.This is my third hammock from Amazon, the last two were made of quilted fabric and ripped among the spreader bars with moderate use (>160 lbs, less than two years outside). Other “luxury” hammocks split the spreader bar and charge $2500 for the softer durable material!!! This hammock is made of a tightly woven poly fabric similar to that of patio chairs. It’s not soft, but one could throw a quilted cotton cover over it if desired. The tie ropes look like a cheap cotton blend, they can be replaced, like my ex-husband, if need be.Since I am serious about my retirement plan, I also upgraded to a heavy duty curved stand since metal rusts do easily down here near the shoreline.I’m looking forward to many hours playing my flute while swinging in this hammock under the stars. <insert> Everybody’s Talkin’ at Me by Harry Nilsson

Great looking hammock that lasted a few years in south Florida sun and rain
If you kept this tucked away when you weren’t using it, it would probably last a lifetime. I leave mine out in the elements. The fabric holds up just fine under the sun but eventually the rain rotted the wood and I had to replace it. Still it lasted a good while with very little maintenance. I think if you were to stain the wood once in a while that might hold up too.

Wears preety well
I wrote this review (below) the last time I purchased the same hammock. It lasts about two summers before the strings wear out. However it is not at all comfortable. I put it up a few days ago and could barely get onto it without being dumped on the ground. I buy it because of the longevity, and for my purposes, it's OK. But if you actually want to rest comfortable in a hammock, get a rope hammock. Here is my old review: After many years of high quality rope hammocks, I bought this same hammock about two years ago. I put it out between trees in May and take it down in November. It is frequently abused by multiple children piling on at once and swinging high. After two summer seasons, it began to fray and pull apart at one end. I bought the same one again because our previous high quality rope hammocks wore out even faster and cost more than twice as much. It’s not as comfortable for one or two adults to rest in as a rope hammock, but it looks good and wears well in my setting,

Slippery and hot
I like the durability of this product and how sturdy it feels. It is hard to get into though as it’s quite slippery. It also gets quite horn in the sun.
