I had a perfectly good commode seat but the plastic hinge broke. I went looking for new hinges and found the plastic ones but also found metal ones. I know that the metal ones will last longer than plastic. I got the metal ones and liked their appearance but there were no instructions as to installing. I had seen a comment in the listing section which told me exactly how to manage the installation. It is a bit tricky. I think it was well worth my time and stress as I do not think I will have the broken hinge problem again.

They weren't even the correct size for a standard toilet. Almost impossible to install and a cheap "metal-ish" finish. Broke in 2 days. If I could rate these a negative 0, I would. Total waste of money.

This is my second purchase of this toilet seat hinge. One hinge of the first set broke after three years. While similar in appearance the two hinge sets were not the same dimensions, therefore were not interchangeable.. Not wanting to drill yet a fourth set of holes in the seat and lid, we opted to purchase a replacement seat. I'm keeping this set for when the hinges on another toilet seat breaks.

The hardware this comes with did not work very well with our toilet. After install, the toilet slides all over the place. I will need to install spacers to stop it from moving around. It also does not seem very durable for being a metal hinge. It is not 100% metal.

I purchased a board toilet seat and the plastic hinges kept breaking each time I replaced them. I did some research on Amazon and came across these metal hinges and thought they would be perfect and durable. It took me some time to install them as some of the screws that came with the hinges were defective. Luckily I was able to reuse the metal screws that came with the plastic hinges.

I took a star off so maybe buyers would read this comment. This thing works fine (and is certainly worth buying to save the cost of an entire toilet seat) but it is just a bit tricky to install. One has to note that each fitting pivots around a screw that comes installed in it. It may be necessary to loosen that screw and to turn the fitting 180 degrees to get it lined up properly, then tighten it again. It took me a bit of time to figure that out, so I'm giving a heads-up to others. That's all.

I didnt like that the bolts were not already attached to the hinge and required being attached by hand. One of the bolts I recieved had an end that was stripped so it was VERY difficult to get it to attach to the hinge. Looks great once i finally got it in. Would also be nice if directions were included, right now, they do not.

I did not like these hinges. They are not sturdy enough. The screws holding the hinges together keep loosening and the toilet seat ends up moving around. Also, as some reviews have said, the screws it came with aren't very good and I ended up using the screws from the previous toilet seat. I like my current toilet seat but it was 40 dollars to begin with and I was looking for a low cost option to fix the one broken hinge I had. Now I'm shopping for a different style of hinge in hopes of getting something more sturdy. I do not recommend these hinges. Waste of time and money imo.
