delicious
at first, i thought oh my goodness what am i going to do with 5 pounds? no problem .. they are wonderful alone, as a side, as an entree stuffed, and so many more ideas. they are tender, not overly salty or vinegary. they are beautiful on the plate as they have the long stem and inner bulb of the artichoke. nothing negative to say. just buy and enjoy.

Best, and Best Value on Market

Salty (and manufacturer can't count!)
Very salty! Much too salty to enjoy on their own. These could possibly be used in a salad or a dip that would allow other ingredients to cut the salt, but then it wouldn't make sense to pay the extra money for the artichoke with stem. Also the package says serving size is 2 artichokes, and there are 22 servings in the can. By my calculations that's 44 artichokes, but there were only 24 in the can.

Truly delicious
These Roman style artichoke hearts are the best canned vegetable we have ever eaten and it is amazing that they are still available at a time at which it is almost impossible to get food deliveries from a grocery store

Update to original review as last 2 cans arrived badly damaged
UPDATE to original review below: When these artichokes are delivered safely and the contents are at their peak, they are fabulous. Even though the artichokes are huge and the 5 pound can hold lots of them, they go fast because they are that good. But I am thinking I may not order these again as the last 2 orders arrived with severely dented cans. Technically, you cannot return these but you may be able to work something out with Amazon through a phone call. The USDA states: “Discard deeply dented cans...a sharp dent on either the top or side seam can damage the seam and allow bacteria to enter the can.” Too risky for us as dangerous bacteria can be inside such a can and it may not be detectable. I wish this issue could be resolved because it can be a great tasting product.Original review: We love artichokes around here but they are not always convenient to prepare fresh, and to use in prepared dishes it’s better to use those in jars or cans. These are just perfect. We use them in chicken and Italian dishes and as a side after a simple sauté. When I first actually saw the size of the can, I thought, oh no, what are we gonna do with all these? It looked like the restaurant version for sure. Well, once we had a taste of their deliciousness and got creative in how to use them, they went fast. We have re-ordered a few times. Even the giant stems are delightful. If you like artichokes, get inventive and try these. There is no comparison to other canned artichokes or marinated versions.

Impressive
The stems on these are very long and tender, the artichokes are full and round. On a buffet table your guests will be drawn to these, chances are good they have never seen artichokes look this way. I took out some of them to make an artichoke tart that called for frozen artichokes which I didn't have, so I substituted some of these to sautee up with sliced onion and seasonings...red pepper flakes, parsley, oregano, etc.. I drained them first from their oil bc they're packed in sunflower oil which is bland, then I added some of my good EVOO to the sautee. Just plain on a buffet I'd do the same, drain and dry them a bit; then add your own good EVOO. Sprinkle with parsley and serve as is. They don't taste as overly marinated as the ones in the small jars. I like these better.
