CTA Tools 8064 Chain Tensioner Lever - Compatible with VW

Worked great when I replaced the intake camshaft on my MK7 GTI 2.0 TSI. The tensioner does need very firm force to fully relieve the tension. If you have to apply extreme pressure, you most likely installed it incorrectly or it is the wrong tool for your motor.

This is quite a bit cheaper than the OEM tool and worked well for what I expect will be a one-time use tool. I had a bit of a learning curve with how to fit this in through the chain and relieve the locking tab on the tensioner, but once figured out, it was smooth sailing and worked exactly as intended. For the people saying it can be bent? Sure, but WOW they must be applying drastically more force than is needed and I experienced zero bending even with some minimal tool abuse. Not a lot of pressure is needed when it is prepared properly for use and this will never bend under regular circumstances. Even when I was figuring it out I cranked on it pretty hard a few times and it was extremely rigid. If this gets bent, it's from improper use, and it's the fault of the user for sure. Solid piece and perfect alternative to OEM.

Works flawlessly and its good quality for its purpose it definitely does the job. It dosent just pushes your chain it moves it away to get enough clearance for removal 😁👍👍

Funcionó muy bien

Tool is made of very soft metal. It bends at presure. If you are trying to release tension without changing timing belt, this will not do the job.
