Soke iPad Mini 5 Case 2019 with Pencil Holder, Premium Trifold Case with Strong Protection, Ultra Slim Soft TPU Back Cover with Auto Sleep/Wake Function for Apple iPad Mini 5th Gen,Violet

I had debated long and hard whether to get a portfolio style or trifold style case. In the end, I didn’t want to fuss with having to pull part of the iPad out for it to stand in one of the slots on a trip. Constantly removing and putting the mini back in the case would cause unnecessary stress. Also, with a trifold cover, and the mini in the case at all times, you shouldn’t have to worry about microphones or cameras on the back ever getting blocked assuming all the cutouts line up well. Lastly, I’m still on the fence as to whether I get the Pencil, so to future prof, I wanted a case with a pen loop.At the time, this was one of the few cases available that checked all the boxes. All of the cutouts are perfectly aligned. I can easily press all the switches, speakers, microphone and camera all have good clearance. The exterior has a nice texture, that is easily grippable and won’t easily slip out of your hands. With an iPad mini in the case, it feels slightly heavier than a Leuchtturm 1917 A5 journal.Time will tell on how well it will hold up, but at this point, I’m pleasantly surprised.

I will start off by saying that this is an excellent iPad case, but unfortunately not for everyone. The case is really well-built, and has a nice almost “fabric like” feel to the exterior. There’s a stretching loop to slide in an Apple Pencil, which is really handy, especially considering that Apple did not provide a magnetic mechanism to attach the pencil like they did with their new iPad pros.The only reason that I say that this case is not for everyone is because unfortunately the case fits too well. What I mean by that is that for people who are OCD with regards to attaching screen protectors (much like myself), You unfortunately need to have an almost perfect placement of the screen protector, otherwise the edges start to peel upwards. This is because the edges of the case curl in to cover the complete edges of the device. This is not the fault of the case itself as it does what it’s supposed to do which is protect all of the edges and back of the case. The magnetic closure on the front does a good job with the sleep/wake function and otherwise I feel that this is a premium case for the iPad Mini.

Just got mine after using a much less desirable cheap case since I got the Mini. Exactly what I wanted-very light, bezel not covered (making it easy to use dock, etc) and Pencil loop. My only complaint is, like another reviewer, that it is a bit awkward to turn back cover because it hits the pencil but that is really a minor issue and it is the only reasonable place to put the loop. A good value and good case IMO.Now after using the case for awhile I have to say this is about as close to perfect a case for the Mini as I can imagine. Even the Pencil loop works out for me as I use a several inches long USB to lightning cable to charge from iPad to the Pencil while it's in the loop. I'll buy another in another color when they are available.

I wanted a case that would protect my ipad mini 5. The rugged models without a foldover screen wouldn't do. The foldover screen models with no shock/drop testing or protection wouldn't do either. I also wanted the lip of the backside to be slightly higher than the screen to protect it. I wanted a pencil holder that would fit my Logitech crayon. Most (all?) of the cases with built-in pencil spots are narrow and only fit a pencil-shaped Apple Pencil or stylus. This case has a snug elastic which holds either securely. I was afraid it would slip. It doesn't. I am returning another case that slipped when it was set at an angle. This one has magnets that hold it in place. I also didn't want cheap feeling/looking fake leather. The texture of the case feels good against my hand. This case is exactly what I wanted. It is replacing my otterbox case for my older ipad mini. I expect to be equally satisfied with this one. Highly recommend.

One of the downfalls of getting new tech is that one needs to drop more money on cases to protect it. I am pleasantly pleased that the Soke case provides great protection, a perfect fit and a nice look all while not requiring someone to drop another fortune.The build and feel of the case is superb. The cutouts fit the mic, speakers and camera perfectly. The magnetic connector that keeps the trifold from unfolding is an added bonus. I am glad to hear Soke is coming out with other colors as I will definitely grab another color.The only suggestion I have is to move the pencil holder so that the case can lay flat on a table then the pencil is in the case. Not a deal breaker, nor a reason to drop it from 5 stars, but just a suggestion.I highly recommend this case for your new iPad mini 5th gen.

I love everything about this case except the placement of the pencil holder. The texture is unique, the materials are great and the construction and quality appear to be fantastic. The problem is that the placement of the pencil holder makes the iPad difficult to use in either the lie-flat or the "typing" configuration. Even if there is no pencil in the holder, the iPad rocks back and forth as you apply and remove pressure. I attempted to take notes in a meeting today using my Apple Pencil and the movement of the iPad was so distracting I had to move it to my lap.Like I said, though, everything else about the case is great. Soke makes another version with a different pencil holder design that I just bought (inside the case in a molded plastic holder). It looks much more well thought out so I'm looking forward to receiving it.

It fits my iPad Mini 5 very well and exceeds my expectation with its quality - durable and lightweight. Highly recommended!
