Size chart not accurate if you're looking for true compression
I am an athletic female and my bicep measures just at 12" when relaxed. This is right between M and L, so I opted for the M. It provides no compression. I will return and try the S. If you want true compression, consider take 1" off your measurement and going with the smaller of the two sizes if you're at the cut off.

Size down for compression, decent for post-op edema, scar remodeling
I bought these to help me manage edema and scar tissue remodeling after I had surgery to pin a displaced fracture of my elbow back in place. I work as an occupational therapist and recommend the use of compression to patients who have had orthopedic surgeries in their hands or arms so I followed my own recommendation and bought these for myself when I became a patient. The sleeves are well made and I love the length. Most elbow compression sleeves are designed for tennis elbow and only provide compression in a small spot, which is okay for tendinitis but not for edema and swelling where you want to apply pressure from the wrist all the way to the shoulder to push the fluid out of the arm. This sleeve is an excellent length for that purpose. I'm 6' and even with my long arms the sleeve covers from my wrist to 4" below my armpit. It does not slide down because of the rubber lining in the top band.I have been wearing these non-stop for two weeks post-op up and they definitely help with edema and have decreased skin sensitivity sround my incision site. My scar appearance and thickness has improved as a result of the compression. This has been the best benefit since this reduction in soft tissue tightness and thickness makes movement of the joint easier as I work to get range of motion back.I docked one star because these aren't as compressive as I would like and they stretch out if you wear them full time but have to take them on and off for exercise and scar massage 3x a day. My bicep measures 11" and the medium size was far too big. Even the small is too big to really provide the compression I need for my incision site and managing swelling. I would've bought an extra small if they offered it. These are good quality and would be great for simple athletic use but I will probably buy something else to replace these now that they are stretching out more. They're not quite tight enough for post-op compression unless your arms are bigger and you can size down beyond the recommended sizes.

INCORRECT SIZING!
I do not know how these compression sleeves are measured in relation to size. It said it would fit a bicep that was 15” to 17”. This is NOT correct. I am much smaller than that and it was much too small!! The sleeves I ordered came from two different vendors. Ordered within 10 minutes of each other. Identical except for color. One I was able to return and the other I was told that I could not return. Buyer beware! Very surprised that one could be returned and the other I am stuck with!

So far so good
My arm (bicep/tricep) measures as 21inch (fat). The sleeve fit well. It's fairly snug(as it should be) so i had to tug a bit to get it close up to my shoulder, but once it is on i feels great. I purchased it to help with blood circulation to reduce the sagging of the skin.

... me at risk for lymph edema I decided I'd better hurry up and get some compression sleeves
When I realized that a 6 hour flight to Hawaii could put me at risk for lymph edema I decided I'd better hurry up and get some compression sleeves. The regular ugly beige sleeves just made me cringe, after all the medical stuff that was requiring me to have sleeves, I just could not resign myself to those! I jotted down the numeric values I should be looking for and found these! Rather than looking like I have a medical condition, I, instead look like I have a nylon/spandex athletic type long sleeve under my top. l have large arms so I worried that they would be too tight but they are perfect! I wear a medium to large top, so I bought L sleeves and they were the perfect fit! They were not too hot, but took the chill off when air was blowing on me. I LOVE these!

Excellent quality and exactly what I needed
I have this on-and-off problem where my hands fall asleep while I'm sleeping. They wake me up (several times a night) and it's painful. Then, it takes a while to get the blood circulating through them properly again. It's something I've been talking about my doctors with for years (over 10 now) and they're not sure why it happens. It's periodic, happening for weeks/months at a time and then going away for a long time. Research brought me to these arms sleeves and I'm beyond thankful. Since that first night, I haven't had the problem. They're comfortable, too. I don't notice them while I'm sleeping, but am so thankful for the return of quality sleep and the absence of pain each morning when I wake. I highly recommend these (and doctor consultation, of course!) if you have the same problem. The other morning it was too cool for a light jacket (and not quite cold enough for a winter coat), so I slipped these on for the early morning dog walk. They were the perfect solution--just the right amount of warmth. Love these!

Snug as glove
this is not the first time that I have bought these arm sleeves and they are wonderful. I bought the first pair because with the work that I do was always leaving these horrible purple bruises on my arms and they were very embarrassing. So I thought that I would give these sleeves a try and they are amazing, they are like an extra layer of skin. All my bruises have gone away and I am no longer having to wear long sleeves to cover these bruises, I wear them at work and when I get home and take them off thank goodness for these sleeves my arms are clear. They are very comfortable to wear, after a while you do not even know that you are wearing them. I have now bought 3 pairs and I love the. To clean them wash them in cold water and lay them out on a towel to dry and they dry very fast. I just throw them in my washing machine with my cold water wash then lay them on a towel, they are almost completely dry already. I highly recommend theses sleeves.

Helpful for M.E./CFS lactic acid burn.
I have CFS and get terrible lactic acid burn in my arms & legs. I thought I would try these out as they are supposed to help athletes recover faster and reduce lactic acid burn. I am female, I got the small size, but I actually could do with them being tighter around my wrist and forearm area , so perhaps I should look for women sizes. Anyway, despite this, they work. As soon as i put them on it helps the pain. It doesnt make it go completely, but it sure helps lessen it and make it more bearable.

Not for grown ups....
Bought these as have a long term health problem, I am of average build with normal sized arms etc, however these are clearly marked as youths, they therefore are not long enough in the arm to do the job really for an adult, not overly impressed as there is also no mention of any copper content in them on the packaging as claimed in initial advert so whether there is or is not is anybody's guess. Ideal for a youngster but if your a normal sized adult I'd personally give them a miss

Great Buy
These were bought for my husband as he cannot were short sleeves in summer due to having cancer years ago. He is average size build so I bought medium size sleeve. I probably could have bought large. But the average size does fit him quite comfortably. There are no complaints they are comfortable to wear, keep his arms cool. Perfect, brilliant price.

Thought these would be fashionable and offer better support. However
I bought them as my arms hurt when I play tennis and would usually just wrap any support around. Thought these would be fashionable and offer better support. However, they did not offer much support and will also slide down my bicpes.

Doing a great job!!
I have for a little while now had a slight niggling injury that was preventing me performing press ups when I worked out. These sleeves are giving me great support and have greatly improved things. I am getting back to my pressups and it is thanks to these sleeves in part.
