Great knife!
Great product. First off, these are my first impressions of the knife, I have not used it as yet, if I do and it breaks I will update this review, otherwise this is what I think. The knife feels very solid, good weight, the blade is solid, a slight bit wider than I thought but not really a flaw, comes relatively sharp and the handle is relatively ergonomic to hold, rubber feels durable, a little soft and tacky so you get a really good grip even when wet.It is well balanced, and thick enough that I can pinch it just where the blade meets the handle like a little chopper, it also has a good overall length to properly control it to do things like cutting veggies and probably gutting a fish. Now the sheath, again, very well built, feels very durable including the nylon belt loop is nice and thick, great quality. The fire starter works, it is mounted upside down on the face of the sheath, but it is in there well, takes a bit of effort to pull it out, so I don't see it falling out. Over time of in and out, I can't say.My only issues are, the sheath, It would have been nice if it had spaces on the side, to strap it onto a backpack strap to have it on your chest. But the nylon belt loop is screwed onto the back of the sheath, so I might try to rig something up. Also the sharpening stone on the back is a bit coarse for my liking, I would have preferred something a bit finer to just put back an edge. But all round I think it is a great little knife for the price.

Way better than expected
Way better than expected! Knife is wide blade with a thick spine, the balance is near perfect and the grip is dead on in the hand, the glow in the dark strips are mainly for show and are not bright enough, the edge is sharp but not razor sharp, the sheath is amazing, the fire starter really is insanely secure if you put it back properly, the paracord clip is mainly show and the buckle is too tiny for quick deployment, but it's removable, the sharpener is on the underside which may cause discomfort both in carry and in having to remove the sheath just to sharpen. I have Ka Bars, a S&W Bowie, Bowie knives, combat knives, survival knives, but this just became my go to blade right beside my Ka Bar... A must for a Bail out Bag or camping! Also, part of the spine has no coated finish so that you can use it on the fire starter, i have never seen any other combo knife with a fire starter consider that. Stat Gear knows how to make practical stuff... Wish it came in black!

pretty decent knife if you don't mind spending time doing initial sharpening
Seems like a well-built knife at first look.Handle is a bit too flat for my liking, would be nicer if it had more 'meat' and roundness to it, but still grips fairly well despite.Took me three sessions over the course of three days to sharpen it, maybe about 45-50 minutes in total. It comes very dull or rather not sharpened. Cutting edge is so smooth you can run it across your finger and it won't cut you.Sharpening plate on the back of the sheath is too small and cumbersome to use effectively for sharpening, but i suppose in a pinch better than nothing. A bit too aggressive to maintain already sharp edge though, but aggressive enough to correct damaged or beat up edge in the survival scenario. You better hope it holds up to the wear overtime, else bring another sharpening stone.Sheath seems well built and not too bulky. Retention is good and secure, yet with the use of thumb rest it's still easy to pull out with one hand.-1 star because of the flat-ish handle and zero cutting edge. It should not take me almost an hour to sharpen brand new knife, but for the price paid (50% off) i can live with that.

This is a great knife!
I bought this for hubby. He absolutely loves it. Very sturdy, sheath has a sharpener also. Seems to be very good quality. Haven't had it long so I guess time will tell but right now it is a winner.

Good Buy!
This one makes a great campsite knife. The style of the knife is big enough it makes a statement but not so big it becomes useless. My favorite part about this knife is the rubber grip. It fits perfectly in your hand and had a good solid non-slip feel to it. It also is a well balanced blade-to-handle ratio. The sheath is solid! Much better than an old cloth sheath that usually comes with knives like this. It clicks into place firmly so you don't have to worry about loosing it on the trail. Good knife for the price! Recommend to any outdoorsman on a budget.

Knife feels sturdy, it comes "sharp" but certainly not SHARP
I purchased one of these and while it does feel good and is a heavy knife, it's not sharp. Don't get me wrong, it will cut things but it does not have what I would consider to be a sharp edge on it. If you've ever had a quality knife or a freshly (properly) sharpened knife, this will be disappointing until it's sharpened properly. The blade also appears to be a harder metal than most knives I've come across. It took a lot more passes with the sharpening stone to make progress than most of my other knives. My concern is this will make the knife more brittle but time will tell.
