3 years business use and still going strong. Detailed long term review.
Short version: I bought two of these in Feb 2018 for use at my business. They're still going strong and work great.Long version: The HF cheapie die grinders are fine for the guy at home using them once in a blue moon, but they don't hold up at all for regular use. I wanted to get something better than the HF junk but was not willing to spend hundreds for a true "industrial" model. These have fit the bill perfectly. Both units are primarily used with roloc pads doing general metalwork. One has a 3" roloc and is primarily rough sanding. The other has a 2" roloc with some sanding but is primarily used for deburring and polishing with scotchbrite pads. For how we use them power is never an issue but speed modulation is very important. These have been great for that. Interestingly, the more expensive IR models I considered have multiple reviews complaining about a lack of speed control, but I've had no complaints with this model. The front exhaust has been a plus for our use. But, I do not have auto-oilers on our shop lines. We just manually add a few drops once in a while (probably far less frequently than we should). They are not used all day every day like a production fab shop, but they definitely see daily use. Honestly though, if you're using a tool for multiple hours every day you should be buying WAY more expensive industrial level air tools. As others have mentioned, the collets do have a tendency to stick. This hasn't really been an issue for us. We're not changing things that often and when we do they break loose with a tap after loosening the nut sufficiently. In summary, at this price point I can't imagine a better bang for the buck. They're good quality yet still very affordable. Speed modulation is great. They are compact and light weight. They have a study, solid feel to them, not loose and sloppy like the HF tools. I will definitely buy these again if we need more.

Good little workhorse
Has been working hard for me as a full-time tech for over a year, still going strong. I have gone through many, many wire wheels/cups in the meantime. The trigger lockout can be a touch annoying at times though, and don't expect this to be a powerhouse.

Feels like a glove
I am a professional mechanic, many of my pnuematic tools are Snap On brand. I have used and experienced Ingersol Rand over the years though and I believe they make solid options that are more affordable. A right angle die grinder has been on KY bucket list for quite some time, so when I saw this I got it. It feels good in my hand and functions well, it looks pretty clean as too. I will use it with plastic attachments mainly for cleaning off old gasket materials.

BUY BUY BUY
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the tool. The construction of this grinder is phenomenal, but i have some gripes.Philosophy of Use - the GO TO metal prep tool.1. Initial quality - very impressive. The tool has a very nice finish and comes in a sturdy box with manual, tools, and extra collet. It is reminiscent of some $400.00+ tools that i have purchased in the past. The finish is so good that i thought a more expensive model was sent by mistake.2. Operation - very impressive. The tool sips on air and does not drain my 15 gallon tank too fast. High speed operation with zip disks is great. Rust flew off the metal during initial testing. Additional drawback is that you have to store the wrenches somewhere and not lose the. The space between the tool body and collet nut is narrow and I am not sure if a standard wrench will fit to tighten or loosen the nut.3. Ergonomics - adequate. The tool is too small for my hands. I was unable to get a good grip on it to keep up with the torque on uneven surfaces. I was not wearing gloves. (ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES) so this may change with gloves. This small size could be a plus though it you are working in tight spaces.4. Durability - unknown. i will update but based on build quality i bet it will last a lifetime.5. Overall Customer Satisfaction - Impressive! I recommend you buy this! This tool is so nice i wanted to cuddle with it at night.

Well worth the price
Really, really nice die grinder. Very fast, smooth, and tons of power. Bearings and gears are all tight. Add a double swivel air connector, and you will love it.

Seems to use less air to run
I’m glad that I went with brand name tool because it seems to use less air to run. Some of cheaper units consume so much air that compressor can’t keep up. I’m comparing with HF brand tools. So far in testing this IR die grinder is working perfect. I use it in restoring my older CJ Jeeps to get in corners with either 2” discs or burr grinder attachments. This is a handy tool to have when working metal or most any materials. I would recommend buying.
