Miss-matched threads & adapters but along with a few additions will do the job well enough.
An OK'ish universal cleaning kit that's let down by fiddly and unnecessary adaptors. The case is nice enough but it' a bit flimsy and will easily scratch & mark, it certainly doesn't stand up to the `Heavy Duty` statement in the description as mine arrived with a miss-aligned lid and a chip on one corner. The catch & hinges are cheap & the catch could easily pop open if caught whilst packed away. It is of coarse far better than the crappy clear plastic & polystyrene jobs. Ideally an oblong plastic case (not the brittle type) with a little extra room for some small cans/tubes of oil & cleaner would have been spot on as that would be stronger, more secure & better for packing in a rifle case. For the money though its still a good buy, and i'm sure i have just the perfect old plastic case for the job (originally had a set of long masonry drill bits in it), so that's that sorted. As for packing it away with your kit, it's compact & flat enough as it is to easily pack whilst taking up very little room, just be sure to put a strong rubber band around it to prevent any accidental opening. I don't like swivel ends/tips on cleaning rods, they prevent you from twisting the attachment as it's pushed & pulled which ensures a quick, thorough & easier clean, they just aren't necessary so i hope to find a way of locking them. Of coarse the idea of the swivels is to prevent the attachment from being unscrewed inside the barrel, but anyone without the common sense to only twist in the right (clockwise) direction really shouldn't be allowed to hold a gun in the first place. The adaptors are a badly thought out unnecessary nuisance & the threads are a mess. Only the swivel section of the large bore rods will screw directly into the handle without an adaptor, but it's useless alone as no attachments, with or without adaptors will fit to the end of the large bore swivel rod or for that matter to the middle rod. Fortunately for shorter barrels the non swivel sections can be attached to the handle using the .17 cal swivel rod handle adaptor. Only the end section however will accept the mops & brushes, some direct & some via yet another adaptor, but at least for pistols the end rod can be used alone & for carbines the middle & end rods used. None of the mops or brushes will fit directly to the handle for cleaning chambers, using the end rod with or without the handle is the only way around this. As for the small bore rods, only the swivel section can be attached to the handle using the above .17 cal adaptor, non of the 2 rigid sections can be attached to the handle either directly or using adaptors, so your stuck with the swivel no matter how long or short you want you small bore rod. Only the .17 brush will attach directly to the small bore rods, for some unknown reason you don't get a .17 cal mop and the pull throughs are stated as not compatible with .17 so all you get in that calibre is 1 lonely little brush. Any of the larger attachments you wish to use with the small bore rods will require the use of 1 or even 2 additional adaptors (making 2 or 3 with the handle adaptor), why the .22 don't directly attach i have no idea. The supplied adaptors & lack of compatibility is totally unnecessary, as are the messed up threads. All of the large bore rods and medium bore attachments above .22 cal should have the same size thread which should match the handle thread, along with 1 adaptor only for the largest bore attachments. This would make them completely interchangeable, meaning that all medium to large bore attachments could be attached to the handle alone, or any number of the 3 large rods. Likewise, the small bore rods and attachments up to .22 cal should also share an identical smaller thread throughout with only 1 adaptor needed for attachment to the handle, again enabling any configuration of the smaller bore rods & attachments. As the small bore rods are better suited to calibres up to .22 they need not be used for bigger calibres, so if the thread sizes were sorted on both sets of rods & attachments only 2 adaptors would be needed to provide complete, full & easy functionality between all parts, even 5 rod sections could be joined, but that would be one hell of a long barrel ! To conclude, this may have it's problems and i simply can't see the reasoning behind the miss-matched threads & badly thought out adaptors. It's also a shame about the lack of .17 accessories, but to be fair it does advise of just the single .17 brush in the listing and i have a few parts from previous kits which i'll add to make up for those omissions, i may just break out the tap & die set also in order to sort out those threads. At the end of the day and given the price it's a pretty good deal, so despite the lack of thought this deserves to lose only the 1 star, and with an otherwise good assortment of attachments i would gladly recommend this to anyone.

My son was very pleased with this as was I
My son was very pleased with this as was I. He has cleaned his, his dads and his dads bisses guns already. If only he would do the same if I gave him a hoover or duster ๐๐. My only criticism is the rods are a bit flimsy and easy to break otherwise ๐

Cleaning kit
All threaded tubes very flimsy. As they are made of aluminium the threads have already picked up. I suppose you only get what you have paid for.
