Works well, records nice quality video. Easy to access settings. It’s nice that after the screen turns off there is still a blinking red light to let you know it’s recording.UPDATE: The rear camera quit working and when I investigated, the cable receptacle where it would plug into the rear camera appears to have pushed through into the camera. It no longer will receive the plug. The female part (that receives the plug) is loose and shaking inside the rear camera if you move the camera around in your hand. I tried to contact support, and am waiting for a response... Will update again after response...They sent me a rear camera, no issue with that. They have been so far very responsive and helpful. Since getting the new rear camera and rear cable, I installed it and also ran the new wire. I went to check out my new footage (which was great as expected) and rand into a problem with the main unit when I went to put the micro as card back inside. It would not go in and stay in place. After trying multiple times to get the card to stay and having it spring right back out, I tried once again. The last time, it didn’t appear to have any resistance and went all the way in. I MEAN ALL THE WAY INSIDE THE CAMERA. I can hear the card rattling around inside the camera now. It’s definitely broken. I would think a few times of installing and removing the micro SD card shouldn’t cause the slot to fail. Questionable quality. I have contacted Vantrue again. I am and waiting for a response. Will update afterUpdate: here’s the latest. Vantrue customer service has been top notch. They asked me to send them the defective unit, which I did, and the sent me a new package with new front and rear cameras, mounts, cables, and instructions. Not just some replacement parts, but an entirely new package. It is installed now and has been working fine. Thank you Vantrue for excellent customer service. :-)

Overall, this is a great dash cam and I love it. I have a N2 model as well, but it was worth upgrading especially due to the wonderful rear camera of this model(and also some other features)!If you install the dashcam cable properly, there are no "design flaw" issues. There are some negative comments in the review about the design issues of front and rear cameras related to "crossing" or "weird angle" of the cable. This happens when a cable which connecting the rear-front cameras is installed in reverse. The L shape side of the cable should go to the front camera, and the straight side should go to the rear camera. Vantrue should put a sheet of further explanation of the cable installation to avoid this issue, so people do not have to think there is a design flaw.When buying a dash cam with a separated rear camera, make sure to buy several cable clips with 3M adhesive tapes, so you can nicely organize the cables.Good;- Great picture quality of front and rear camera. The rear camera is as good as the front. Wide range camera as advertised. Good night vision. Parking mode works well(you need a heat-resistant battery during summer).- The cameras are installed with adhesive tape, not suction mount(all suction mount becomes weak eventually and a camera drops)- Easy to remove and install Micro-SD card. The location of the slot of the card is very accessible.- GPS. Dash Cam Player is downloadable and show a map when playing the video. Good legal records, and also fun to play the memory of traveling.Bad; No big issues, but I write some thoughts below.- Mannual can become better. For example,- the cable direction of connecting front-rear cameras to avoid connecting in reverse- Instillation tips of rear camera: I found out the best location to install rear camera is the top center of rear windshield, but no explanation is written in the manual. I should have installed the rear camera location higher, but difficult to remove the mount due to very strong adhesive tape. The installation would be very simple if there were a bit more explanation on the manual.- The price can be little higher side, but maybe descent considering all its functions and quality.- I wish there were a USB or HDMI output connector on the front device to display the rear camera view, so I can use it while my car is backing.- The connector of the rear camera could be on its upper side, rather than its left. Some people may feel the cable is little disturbing in the rear-view mirror initially, although there are no practical problems while you are seeing the rear-view mirror since the cable and also rear camera are small enouth. The connector is probably on its left side to install the camera up-side down if needed, so, this is good and bad. Personally, the cable does not bother me at all, although I first thought it could.

I bought this camera to replace one (cheaper) I had bought in 2018. I was looking for a seamless alternative to keep the line of my car (mazda cx 5) and to not block the view in my front windshield. I also was looking to improve security by adding a rear camera which I did not have with my previous (now broken and discontinued) camera.I decided to go with this not only for its shape but also for the option of rear camera and gps and the extra of 4k recording.When the camera arrived I was amazed for materials, the camera and its components feel sturdy, not flimsy at all. It came with everything to set it up to your lighter and enough cable to route the rear camera but not the sd card. Fair enough!I am not a fan of having accesories attached to the lighter or having cables all over my car, si I cracked opened the lighter plug in to see that there was a power adaptor because this camera works on 5v. Or something, all I have to do was to get a couple of terminals and transform that ligther plugin in a hardwire kit, but I got lazy and decided to buy the original hadwire kit (I will review this later).After installation (took a couple of hours), I am very happy with the result, made the software update and the camera works with no problem. In terms of real quality of the product, only time will tell, my last camera of a different brand lasted almost 5 years (cheap and cheaper feel) so this one has a long road to run. I give it 4 stars in first place because the sd port is the only thing on the camera that looks cheap, if this camera is going to fail, I am very sure is going to be here. In second place because at this price point there should be and possibility to buy the hardwire version of this camera and not to have to invest another $20 in this kit if you get lazy to transform the original lighter plugin like me.
