Lonely Planet always the best
I do a lot of traveling, often to off the beaten path locations. I also plan group travel, as a volunteer, and have found that through the decades, LP books are the best if you are looking for inexpensive options, relatively detailed travel information, and quirky ideas. For cultural and historic aspects, Insight Guides are beautiful and Rough Guides are also good overall. But if I could choose only one, it would be LP.

Good book for travels to South India
Has adequate detail needed for travel. Ready too carry.

Shame on LP
Do not buy this book. I am currently traveling in South India ( December 11, 2029), a tree month walk- about through South India an Kerala. This books has not been helpful at all. I am force to use wikitravel, as well as many local Indian sites.

Nulla da eccepire sulla qualità delle guide Lonely Planet né sulla consegna Amazon. Purtroppo aprendo il pacco ho notato che la guida è stata usata o era qualche giacenza di libreria dove è stata sfogliata innumerevoli volte. Purtroppo non ho fatto il reso per motivi di tempo e ho dovuto sistemarla con Attack per eliminare le spaccature sui bordi della copertina. Stavolta non sono contenta per niente.

In today's world, updated and plenty more info is available on line. the cost of it, fine print and limited info, does not merit buying. ore emphasis is on hotels rather than places to visit or things to do. explanations are not required...only if web address is there.
