Delivered fresh by Amazon. This is my miracle breakfast on the go. I prepare it like oatmeal in the mornings, and it keeps me energized throughout the day. Also, hemp seeds contain a mad amount of those healthy Omega 3's that our bodies love so much. Just 3 spoonfuls of Nutiva hemp seeds with a handful of nuts and berries, topped off with some hot almond or oaktmilk in the morning. My body is very happy! Seems to help with my cognition issues, too. I really recommend giving this a try if you're on the hunt for a effective anti-inflammatory addition to your diet.

I want to say that I've been buying/using Nutiva organic hempseeds for years and love them. I purchased a 3# bag from Amazon in Sept, 2012 with a 5/22/12 manufacture date and a 5/22/2013 best by date. The seeds looked and smelled fine, but had a terribly strong bitter taste. It was the first time that I had bought the product in a 3# bag vs. the 8 oz. or 13 oz. size and wondered if perhaps that had something to do with the quality difference, but I was unwilling to order another 3# bag to find out. I tried to make the best of it, using the seeds in smoothies and baked goods like quick breads to mask the flavor, but to no avail. Everything that I used them in tasted bad. I stopped using them and ordered other bags (8 oz or 13 oz.) of the Nutiva seeds and as hoped for, they tasted great. I wasn't sure what to do with the 3# bag since I couldn't figure out any way to use it. I was about to throw in the towel and just pitch the bag when I decided to call Nutiva and just ask if there had been a product recall or if anyone else had reported problems with these seeds. I called the 800 number listed on the label and the gentleman with whom I spoke said that there had indeed been a product recall on 3# bags specifically due to seeds in them having been left to sit in their shells for too long prior to shelling. He reported that the seeds all tasted fine at the time of shipping to vendors, but they quickly developed a bitter taste. All vendors were reportedly contacted and asked to return the product. Based on the number of 1 star reviews all citing rancid/bitter taste, I suspect that there was a breakdown in the channels of communication and Amazon did not return the product, but sent it out to customers instead. The gentleman at Nutiva offered to send me a new 3# bag, free of charge and it is shipping out to me today. I expect that it will be received shortly and will live up to the quality that I have come to expect from Nutiva. I just wanted to provide info on the recall. I am not sure the manufacture dates for which the recall applied, but if you received seeds that taste bitter, rancid, or otherwise "off" I encourage you to contact Amazon or Nutiva directly. IME this is not representative of the typical product quality and it should (and seems like WILL) be corrected.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really liked the hemp seed oil so I thought I’d give this a try. I got a 3 pound bag of what looks and feels like small crushed nuts. There are no loose hulls or hard crunchy matter. It’s a large, very clean bag of seeds with a “vibrant green“ flavor. I mean that in the best possible way. The flavor is so mild I could see them being added to anything. Salads, smoothies, yogurt, scrambled eggs, anything. I just now ate a few spoonfuls of them just by themselves. The Nutiva hemp products I bought (late 2019) have a very potent fresh nutritious green flavor like what you would expect from a product processed in the field as opposed to one that’s been sitting in a warehouse for months. I have been very impressed with both the oil and the shelled seeds. When I eat them it’s like my body immediately recognizes the nutrition in them. It’s a great source of plant protein and omega threes. I give this product my seal of approval.

I've never had hempseed before, so I didn't know what to expect. They have a walnut taste to me, which is not my favorite, but at least they don't taste like pine nuts, which is what I've read. My friend thinks they taste like sunflower seeds, I wish they tasted like that to me. I'm not crazy about them, but it seems to be a good product. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. They would probably be good on ice cream, or sprinkled on a brownie. I have a feeling though, if you're eating hempseed, you're probably not eating a lot of ice cream and brownies lol. My health nut friend loves them and eats them by the spoonful. If you like hempseed, you probably can't go wrong with Nutiva.

Excellent packaging and clean delicious hemp seeds.

I enjoy these hemp hearts on my cereal or yogurt every morning and notice a number of imediate health benefits including prolonged and sustained energy throughout the day, increased focus, more stamina, and less burnout during the afternoon. I highly recommend including these in your post workout as well as they are one of, if not the most bioavailable form of protein to humans and include a great balance of the critical omega fatty acids that humans require as well. Seriously, this stuff is probably the healthiest thing you can put in your body on a regular basis. Flavor is that of subtle nuttyness, and is great ontop of salad, added to a granola recipe, trail mix, etc.
