Melon Baller Philippines Style - Coconut Grater - Filipino Double Fruit Steel Spoon

I love this item-I make Melon juice for my son and this little tool is perfect for making/grating the long strips of melon for the juice. It's extremely durable, heavy duty, easy to use and works Excellent. Thanks for making my melon juice experience easy and fun!

Gives the impression it sturdy. It's not. Broke the first time on a ripe cantaloupe. Not sure what its made of, maybe plastic.

Broke after about 10 minutes use on a mature coconut. The scraper end is glued into the tube, then touched with a dollop of solder. The melon scooper end is still functional. Very cheap, but it simply does not work as a coconut scraper.

It's fine. It's not like there are a lot of options for melon graters. The edges have some rougher/sharper spots, but it does what I need it to do, so overall I'm happy. Shipped fast.

It appears to be just what I was looking for. I'm a little concerned about the solder...can you tell me what material is used to "cement" the loops together?? The loops seem to be nice and sharp. The tool I already had was from another southeast-Asia country, and was made from a piece of a soft drink can and a hand-carved bamboo handle... rustic, but serviceable. This one looks much nicer.

Arrived quickly. Product is clearly hand made and that gives it it's character. Product is strong, sharp and works perfectly. We've already made two pitchers of melon water with my cantaloupe "spaghetti". It goes through the cantaloupe like a hot knife through butter. Takes 2 minutes and all you have left is thin cantaloupe rind.

Too small and fragile.

The melon baller I received was exactly as pictured in the Amazon listing. Seems to be well made and sturdy. My Mom had one of these years ago but lost it when we kept moving. The scoop is slightly different to the one that my Mom had years ago. I am more interested in the grating end of the melon baller anyway. I could not find this one locally but was really relieved to find it on Amazon. I can finally make ice buko, cantaloupe ice candy, and avocado ice candy like my Dad used to make for my brothers and I when we were kids!! Thank you, North Arrow Shopinoy!!
