Best bang for the $
Excellent card. Upgraded from a 7970 to 2 of these. I'm running Crysis 3, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, you name it, @1440P everything maxed, never drop below 60 FPS. The fan can get loud on them, but I use MSI Afterburner and set a custom fan curve. These are rated to perform >90 degrees, but I've never seen these go above 70. Word of warning: if you have a UPS on your system, make sure it's rated pretty high... 600W was good enough to run one 290x and my monitor, speakers, etc, but not enough for 2. After some testing, my rig with one 290x enabled draws somewhere around 480W ( I have a ton of fans and an 8350 running @ 5GHZ as well). My rig in crossfire 290Xs draws more than 600W apparently, so I've ordered a 900W to use for my computer only, and I'll use my current 600W for everything else. I know a lot of people won't be going crossfire with these bad boys anytime soon, but just a heads up, you need some serious wattage. Update: Newest beta version of MSI Afterburner unlocks core and memory voltage, for overclocking goodness.

An excellent all around card!
This card is an excellent card! Everything I wanted for both gaming (There are textures and details I have never been able to see before on my old HD7770 crossfire setup, bringing new life to all of my games) and excellent results in terms of mining delivering 800khs. Everything that is being said in response to how hot it runs and the volume of the fans under heavy load is true. It is loud and it runs at 95 degrees, however the card doesn't seem to mind, and the noise is consistent and easy to ignore, like white noise in the background. I will eventually be adding a second one in crossfire, but not before putting them under liquid cooling.

Great card overall
Great card overall, runs just about every game I've thrown at it on high or ultra (with a bit of tweaking and overclocking). Black and red color scheme fit my case perfectly. Make sure you measure your case though because this is a pretty big sucker. It does run quite hot and draw a lot of power - even though they say its rated for 95 degrees C, I dont want anything in my case getting nearly that hot. I've seen mine peak at about 85 with the fan set to a max of 60% output. Speaking of fans, it is LOUD. I dont mind because I game with headphones, but beware if your case is close by to you, it is loud enough to be annoying under a heavy load. All in all a great card for the money, just a bit on the loud side.

Giving it 3 stars because it's too damn noisy. ...
Giving it 3 stars because it's too damn noisy. I replaced the stock fan with the NZXT water cooling setup, and it's whisper quiet. Overall, it's fast and it works.

Good card, bad seller ...
The best card I'd ever had. However this one (from this seller) came broken. My bad review is related to a bad item received (in the worst physical and working conditions) not in the video card as a product. Although I have to admit that shipping was really fast. This card looks like was use for mining in a hard way.

Great GPU!
One of the most powerful gpu in its time. I bought the Radeon R9 290X to combine with the Corsair Hydro Series HG10. Did have a problem trying to uninstall the fans screws, it was locked down pretty tight. I had to cut one of the screw to removed it, it was a hassle. But I did install it down on the corsair without any problem. Now all my game settings are running high and the cooling is also to the max! Running my game for hours now without it freezing up, skips frame! Just perfect!

Still a good card.
All in all a great card. The 290X and other GCN cards have been around for a long time but they have competed with NVIDIA's offering of new and old very well. The 290X performance has improved year by year as did AMD's FX CPUs as software/drivers caught up. I did not enjoy paying $329.99 for a reference card when AIB models were the same price also but since I already owned another reference 290X I went with this card. I do not regret getting another 290X when the 300 Series and Fiji/Fury was so close. The 290X is strong enough to power all my games alone and even better when paired with another 290X.

Rock solid card.
I used this to mine cryptocurrencies until I made enough to cover the cost of the card. It plays all of the current games of high/extreme quality and at least, 60 fps. (in conjunction with the rest of my hardware). It does tend to get hot, but all you have to do is adjust the fan curve in MSI afterburner and it will be smooth sailing from there. ;)
