Not a good batch
This latest batch of caramel nips was very disappointing. Most of them were unwrapped and it appeared they had melted and had stuck together. I threw away most of them. Also, I will warn you (from experience) that these are NOT good to eat if you have dental work such as crowns, fillings, etc.

Soo good
I love these things. I’ve been eating them for years. They’re getting hard to find in the store so I ordered a half of case and the price is probably better than in the store.

Great Coffee Flavor!
I really wanted to find some good coffee-flavored hard candy and found three brands, four flavors (alphabetically): * Bali Best Espresso Candy * Kopiko Candy (Cappuccino) * Kopiko Candy (Coffee) * Nips Coffee CandyThis review is a comparison of the three brands I found. I definitely preferred two brands over the third, but the third was okay -- just not something *I* would get again.Likes/Dislikes:** BALI'S **Bali's is a hard candy "glass." They're the hardest of the three brands. What I liked is that the center of the candy is filled with an espresso-flavored syrup. It provided a pop of flavor (LIKE!), which is sorely needed because (DISLIKE) the hard candy "shell" itself is pretty flavorless. You wind up crunching the candy to get to the syrup so you go through it faster (and it rougher on your teeth).Rough measurements: The pieces are round and smooth-ish (can have sharp edges). They're larger than a dime, but smaller than a nickel, maybe an eighth of an inch thick.I would say they're a decent value for the money, but 1) they're only okay (not "good"); 2) they're twice (+) as expensive as the brand I liked the best; and 3) you go through them faster because you have to crunch them to get to the flavor burst.Overall, they're okay, but I would not order them again and would only recommend them to others with reservations -- 2 stars overall.** KOPIKO'S **I received two flavors of Kopiko's candy, coffee and cappuccino. Both are hard candy, but not necessarily "glass-like." It's hard candy, but definitely "softer" than the Bali's (airy??). I don't really know how to explain it... It's sort of like Balis would shatter like a glass and Kopikos would break like pottery. Both are hard, but pottery is "softer" than "glass." Of the three, I preferred the texture of these candies over the other two (mainly because they could be sucked or crunched and the brand I liked the best can't really be chewed). The flavor of the Kopiko -- both -- is better than that of Bali's. They are made from real coffee and you can tell. Because you don't have to crunch to get flavor, you're able to suck on them longer (though I admit I crunched too). Both flavors are good, though I preferred the cappuccino version. These are the most expensive of the three brands by over a dollar an ounce. They taste good, but not worth the extra $1+ -- at least not to me.Rough measurements: The pieces are rectangular and smooth. They're about an inch by a half-inch, and about a quarter to a third of an inch thick.I would purchase either flavor again (but would hem and haw over the price) -- 3.5 stars overall (rolled down to 3 because of the price).** NIPS **Nips are a cross between soft and hard candy -- they call it "rich and creamy hard candy" and it is. It can't be crunched; it sticks to your teeth if you try -- and it can be difficult to work it free (not as bad as Bit-O-Honeys, but still...). I'm always afraid I'm going to pull out fillings or teeth and try to be careful. That being said, Nips have the best coffee flavor of all the ones I purchased. They're like a cappuccino you can suck on. And because you can't crunch or chew on them, they last longer than the harder candies. To me they seem sweeter than the Kopiko a slight drawback, but the flavor is worth it.Another plus for Nips is that they're the least expensive of the three (over the Bali's by more than half). So, not only are they the best tasting (to me), they're the best value for the money.Rough measurements: The pieces are round, but not as smooth as pictured on the box. They're larger than a nickel but smaller than a quarter, and a quarter to a third of an inch thick.I would purchase these again (and again!) -- 4 stars. I recommend them with the caveat that you have to take care not to do damage to teeth and/or dental work.Summary...** If you're looking for the best coffee flavor at the best price, go for the Nips.** If you're looking for HARD candy (that can be crunched/chewed) with good coffee flavor (or you're worried about Nips candy sticking to your teeth/dental work), go for the Kopiko. Though they're expensive, they are good.** Balis aren't horrible, just okay. I would only recommend them if you wanted HARD candy as opposed to "rich and creamy hard candy" and can't or don't want to pay the premium for Kopiko.
