Okayish
I wouldn't say this book is the best compared to the other Hindu mythologies I came across . There is a clean line between the first half and the secomd half of the book. Which I find quite disturbed . I have come across different Mahabharata narrations and even the classic ones . But this book doesn't match to any of the remaining . The English is quiet very very simple and blunt . Coming to the characters in the book , Mahabharata has lots and lots of characters . You can't name which one is important and which one isn't . This book doesn't give you the insight of all the characters except sakuni. Not even Krishna . The book do have characters but I feel it's still hanging and incomplete and utterly dissatisfied. But the good part is that , it's different and makes you see the pain of certain characters . Plus the book doesn't focus on the abilities of God or boons or karma or wheel of Time or magic as this generation calls . Not even the krishna Divine avatar . If you are a big lover of krishna, this book isn't for you . But it you wanted to read something good and different I would recommend this .

Horrendous!! Left me fuming...!! Total waste of time, money and sentiments!
This book is a total disappointment for those who know the role and soul of Lord Krishna. Few things mentioned in the book truly bothered me. 1. Pitamahas feelings when he saw Draupadis humiliation and the reasons for his silence. To me it was a total slander of his repute. 2. Kunti's story of avenge from Pandu and her way of conceiving three sons was absolutely unacceptable and her connection with Vidur was beyond comprehension. 3. Draupadi's hatred for Arjuna! Yes you heard that right. As per this modern Vyas...Draupadi hated Arjuna!🤣 4. Arjuna's story was almost missing when we all know that he was the main character in the epic. Imagine...the Hero is missing! 5. And last but not the least, Lord Krishna. His principles and his love for Arjuna have totally been stigmatized and tarnished!! I wonder what the author wanted to achieve by playing around with all these main characters. All in all, this book miserably failed to appeal. Fortunately I have read a lot on the epic, so Lord Krishna's name in my soul is etched and he will always be highly revered. But it could very well be a misleading read for a first timer. So undoubtedly I am not recommending this to anyone ever! In fact will warn ever reader. The bottom line is...the cover of the book looks attractive; and the wise say never judge a book by its cover!

I could highly recommend this book to read
If you want to know about mahabarata then this book could be a great choice. The story narration was so good. The author easily plotted the story narration. The book is having 335 pages but I completed in 2 days . Thats how intresting this book was.

Go for it
As a reader you must be able to understand and accept an author's perspective of the story. I understand people who are deeply blinded by faith won't accept and like this book but then again the author choose to speak up his mind and a beautiful interpretation of the great tale. It's a book one must read to broaden their perspective on life.

A beautifully written book!!
Reading this book was quite a different experience for me. Being someone who isn't much of a mythology lover but definitely someone with an indefatigable faith in our religion and our culture, this book challenged so many of my beliefs and made me question what I've heard and believed so far about everything related to Mahabharata. The language is quite simple and the content is evident of the research and hardwork that the author has put into it. The story, as told by the author, is full of revelations and new pieces of information which is bound to keep the reader glued to the book. The cover is absolutely gorgeous which makes me a proud owner of this beautiful book. I would highly recommend this book to readers who love mythology, as this is definitely something which they mustn't have come across yet..
