when one thing lists “life size” most people expect it to be smaller than they expect, part of the conflation and rising expectations of a mental image of what you are buying. This doll on the other hand- it absolutely is a lifesized emperor penguin doll. i bought it for my niece to equal out her and her sisters chi ristmas gift costs and boy was i not disappointed. when the box arrived in front of my door i half wondered if the box that came up do my ribcage was entirely full of penguin. i hesitantly peeled the tape from the box and low and behold there was my niece’s size equivalent in the box. the doll itself is soft and light (to an anemic person with joint issues) and could barely fit in the gift bag i bought separately (it was large around that a flat measured bag, soon became inches shorter to accommodate the circumference of the doll)and when my sister saw it sitting onmy couch she immediately said “i, hate you.”👍 would buy again if it was promised she wouldnt kill me for cluttering her house.

I had to unfortunately return this because it was bigger than I expected. But holy cow, this thing is actually gigantic! It seems very well made. The colors are vibrant and true to life. Everything is stitched very neatly and securely.I will be returning this in favor of a smaller penguin, but if you're looking for a giant penguin, this is it!

There are now two of these penguins in the family. It started as a joke gift, but my niece loved it so much that when we moved to a new house we bought a "cousin" for her to visit. They have names and backstories. If not for lack of floorspace, we would have more penguins.They are hilarious to look at (although quite dignified), soft and fun for kids to jump on / lean on / hug, and they mostly stand on their own if positioned properly.No matter the occasion, you can't go wrong with a 40" penguin.

My grandchildren love their super sized stuffed penguin. One set of grands named their penguin Louie and the other set named their's Huggable Muggsie. The kids and adults love dressing the furry family penguin up for every holiday and keeping him front and center in the living room. He's adorable and one of the family now. Bought for our granddaughter for Christmas gift and she LOVES it! It was taller than her and to see her eyes when she opened it was priceless! It so Soft, she cuddle its, plays house with it and named it immediately (Big Jim,lol). Only one thing I can say...the neck was a small tear in it but with a little needle,thread & stitching "Big Jim" is like new and our 10 yr old LOVES him!!
