Ripped the seem on the inside of my left knee on my second ride. 6" gash and growing. This part does fold, and occasionally rubs 'stuff' on the bike as I pedal, but I can't find anything more than cable housings (not ends).Aside from that, these pants work quite well. I rode 22 miles, with lots of ups and downs. at medium intensity on a 25 degree day. I had NO noticeable perspiration issues in these pants. In contrast, I struggled to maintain a balance on my upper body, neck, and hands.

I had to return them. I'm 5'9 and 185lbs with a 36in waist. Clearly not cyclist skinny, but the large pants barely fit over my hips and I found the crotch extremely tight. The XL might fit, but by that point, The knees would be around my ankles.

Good and Bad
First the good. The pants windproof and waterproof effectiveness are excellent. I've actually worn these during hurricane Sandy on my commute to and from work. They kept me dry and warm the entire time. I've had limited time in the cold with these, down to the mid 20's fahrenheit. They seem to be fine at these temps with a base layer of merino wool underneath. Now for the bad. They have a very unusual fit in the crotch area. It's hard to describe but they feel as if they are to small/short in the front. I purchased the medium and I have a 34" waist. I'm not sure if a large would prevent this or fit any better.Overall a four star rating, minus one star for this bizarre fit I described.

Very good but not durable enough
The "wear-resistant seat reinforcement" isn't really wear-resistant. The inner layer's gone in one spot and the outer layer has wrinkles after about 50 hours of riding. These are also quite tight, but that's somewhat expected from cycling gear. These are hands down the best cycling pants for rain I've ever worn, but for me even these aren't worth spending $200 on a new pair every half a year.

Great quality product. More than two years of ownership and delivers as new. Completely dry under profuse rain.

for tall skinny guys only
Unwearable, had to return. Legs are waaaay too long, and it's not like you can just hem them like jeans. The Gore "svelte" sizes just don't match my big middle and short inseam.

Too baggy from the knees down. Have to wear bands to keep away from cranks and sprocket. Bike pants should definitely be tapered. It keeps me dry, that's the important thing. They make a lot more noise when I walk in them than my old ones.
