Denix 18th Century Pirate Flintlock Replica Gun - Non-Firing Replica

For the past couple of years I have been putting together a very authentic pirate costume and needed the perfect pistol to tuck into my belt. This is it! It's obviously not exactly like the real thing (you can't pull out the ram rod) but fills in for an actual flintlock pistol nicely. The "click click click" of the hammer going back becomes a bit addicting to listen to and the pistol itself is a real eye catcher. I was constantly asked "is that real?" by patrons of a recent haunted house I put on. While I eventually want to get a real flintlock for authenticity this pistol is certainly a great place holder piece and perfect for occasions when the real thing would be inappropriate. This is a great piece and I would recommend it for any pirate enthusiast!

The craftsmanship is great, especially for the price. I was looking for a prop for a costume and this piece was perfect. The materials are good quality and give it a good weight, the action works perfectly and the whole things is quite durable. It's not a museum piece, but it's perfect for a useable prop or a display. I am impressed and will definitely look to this manufacturer first for future purchases.

I purchased these to replace cheaper pistols for our Ren Fest/Halloween costumes. Out of the box, I'm quite surprised - they could easily pass for real weapons if not looking closely. The craftmanship on these is wonderful - they have a nice weight to them and they feel sturdy. I agree with the others that the trigger could be tighter, but it seems to be an easy fix. I'll also widen one or two countersinks to allow the screws to sit flush, and my husband plans to modify the inner workings to turn these into cap guns. Overall, though, the quality cannot be beat for the price. I plan to order a second pair in the near future to complete our costumes. Well done, Denix!

I included the parts breakdown of the pistol. It looks great, functionality was a little lack luster out of the box. The spring was weak and the hammer didn't hit with much force. I purchased it for $29 so it was worth modding the inner mechanism to turn this prop into a working cap gun. Modding is not necessary to increase the spring tension(you just need to wind back the hammer, remove the hammer via a screw rotate it fwd on the cog and reattach to apply more tension), however I modded the inside of the cog to prevent the spring from slipping inside and loosing tension. In short, its a great prop. Its even greater for someone like me who doesn't mind doing a little work to make it better.

When this Denix Flintlock Replica Gun arrived I was very surprised. The detail and workmanship that went into this replica was definitely worth the $ I spent ( I now feel they could of charged a lot more) and what a great Flintlock. This is for my Pirate costume that I'm putting together. On the box that it arrived in, it said that it was made in Spain. It has a very nice feel to it when it's in your hand does not feel cheap. I had looked at other Flinklocks but, they would not send or deliver to CA. so, I was very happy that this seller did. My hats off to them. Again, thank you very much and i will think of this company when I need to get more replica's in the future.

I bought this to complete my pirate costume and wow, was I impressed! It is hefty and absolutely looks real. I wore it to a Halloween party and numerous people thought it was. The handle is real wood (stained pine) and the barrel and assembly are real metal. A few points of the gun are mildly flawed, but only if you hold it in front of your face and inspect it. I would also recommend using some WD-40 in the trigger housing and on the hammer. For the price, this is a fantastic buy! I certainly recommend it for any fellow buccaneers!

After minimal use the frizzen broke off completely (as seen in the photo) on top of the that I also had to do extra work to make the false ramrod actually fit properly This sucks because it is a very nice replica, it looks nice and was fun to fiddle with. I would very much like a replacement or at the very least, a replacement part
