Perfect set for bread baking
I am getting back into sourdough bread baking, and this set has everything needed. For less than $28! Forget Temu!!The bannetons are perfect, very well made. The round one might be a bit large for my loaves, but I'll manage. The oval one is perfect. Linen covers are included, a lame, and a plastic scraper, which I already have, and use, but handy if one is still in the dishwasher. And a good sized linen bread bag. What more do you need?!?I have managed without the bannetons for years, but am anxious to get acquainted with them!ETA: yes, the "lame" is pretty 'lame'! But I use a razor blade or scissors anyway.

Sourdough Necessities
This is such a nice banneton basket set for anyone on the ubiquitous sourdough bread journey. These baskets are sturdy, made of natural materials and are an absolute necessity for beautiful sourdough loaves. They come with liners, a bench scraper, bread lame and bread bag so they make a great gift too. I'm still learning but I feel well-equipped with this set.

Excellent bannetons with cloth covers ...
As a sourdough baker I have waited a long time to spend for these rattan beauties, but it has been worth the wait. These baskets are of excellent construction and have helped me produce wonderful loaves. That said, the accessory lame and dough scraper, which are a good idea, are of inferior quality. The lame doesn't allow for replacing blades, and the dough scraper isn't shaped for use in bowls, but only as a bench scraper/dough cutter. This set is an excellent value and the storage bag works wonderfully well in my tiny kitchen. I hang my bannetons on my pot rack in their bag when not in use.If the disappointment of a poor lame and scraper/cutter doesn't trouble you, and even if it does, this is a great piece of kit for sourdough baking.

Great for making bread
I thought these were going to be too small at first but they work just fine. The make proofing the bread a breeze and so easy to keep the shape I want. the only thing I didn't like was the little cutting tool (name??), it was not sharp at all and just pulled at the dough so I went back to using a very sharp knife.

OK BUT COULD BE BETTER, BOWL SIZE NOT ACCURATE
The Bannatons are decent and nicely made. There are no unsightly staples or slapshod work on the bowls. The linens are nice but unless you are baking a large size dough, you won't get the right proofing shape you need for a smaller loaf. The bowls are large and could easily take on 2,000 grams of dough for the bowl bannaton, you will have a lot of space where by the dough will flatten out to the sides and affect the oven spring (mainly talking sourdough here). The bowl is supposed to be 9 in in diameter but it is actually 10 in which means there's a whole lot of extra dough that will be needed in order to fill this thing and for it to keep its shape.Currently I am using a 7-in diameter glass bowl covered with a cloth dusted with rice flour and all-purpose flour as a bannaton. My bread loafs are 790 grams total weight before baking. After I bake the loaves they are perfectly round and beautifully formed with lots of oven spring. The oversized bowl would not work because it would spread out and not shape properly. If I doubled the recipe, the round bannaton might work. When I put my sourdough in the fridge overnight by the morning, it has a nice perfectly round tight form. I inverted onto parchment paper, score it, and drop it into the Dutch oven. This giant bowl would allow the dough to overstretch to the sides (with my current 790g recipe) so by the time it got into the Dutch oven, it would lose its proper shape. The lame does not seem very sharp. There's no way to replace the blade. The dough scraper has sharp right angles on the bottom and it's tough to get into a round bowl for cleaning. It would work okay on a counter bench.I still am contemplating returning this. I can't use the big bowl even if I went to a larger bread size loaf.I will say however, the quality of the Bannatons are good and the burlap bag is very nice. Both are well made.If you bake bread loaves in large size quantity then this might work perfectly for you.I gave it three stars instead of five because of the inaccuracy of the bowl size shown in the ad photos and the fact that the lame is dull and you can't replace the blades. So I still have to buy a new lame.

Great value for price and quantity.
The bannetons are good. They have peeled in random areas at time but for the price it’s no big deal. I have used them without the cloth and with the cloth. As long as you have a spray bottle to mist water and lay down rice flour in the banneton you’ll be good. This will make it easier to come off later. When cleaning it rinse it off and leave it on top of stove with oven on allowing water to run off and the banneton will dry out with heat and will look like new.The lame is not great and easily rusted after a couple days. The bread bag is useful if you have small rolls or want to dry out a bread for French toast.
