The Writing Prompts Workbook, Grades 1-2: Story Starters for Journals, Assignments and More

What is a title anyway? Just the Main topic and the review is the main idea?
They only give you a few lines to write on after every prompt. Also as a homeschool mom who lives in a tiny town with a mixed race daughter...some of these questions are irrelevant to us.Some of them ask what you would do at school or in your town etc...Also I thought they would be more imaginative based on the description but, they are all really life scenarios. Which is good to reflect on and think about your role models and stuff but not what I expected.

Love this writing prompt workbook. Good things to think about and for kids to write about.

Great for Daily 5
I will use this with my firsties this year. The writing prompts will be used as the writing component of my Reading Workshop/Daily 5 literacy block. The prompts will start as ways to elicit ideas and get kids past pre-writing. I envision some of the prompts to morph into a full-fledged piece for their writing portfolios.

A little too advanced
It is a nice book, but I feel like the prompts are a little to specific and advanced for 6-7-year-olds.

Three Stars
It has many topics but I wish the book has more scaffolding.

Helpful
