A Good Start to Building Vocabulary in Norwegian
It was smaller than I thought it was going to be, but for as small as it is, it sure does come in handy. There are several entries in here. I Skype with a few Norwegian friends and some of them seem truly impressed that I am learning the vocabulary fairly quickly! I'm still learning, but this dictionary is helping me out in many ways, and it does fit snugly inside any shirt pocket.May I also recommend getting Say It in Norwegian (Dover Language Guides Say It Series) , which is also another book that fits nicely inside shirt pockets and NORWEGIAN in 10 minutes a day® with CD-ROM (this one won't fit in any pocket... it is a bigger book) along with this dictionary? Work through these if you are going to Norway. Most people there do speak English, but there are a few who don't. Those who don't are mainly older folks. With the North Sea Oil drilling going on, Norway and the UK are working closely together, which may explain why so many of the young ones can speak English fluently. Regardless, it shows everyone just how much one appreciates the country and the culture by learning how to converse (it need not be difficult sentences) in the home tongue. Most Norwegians appreciate visitors for this! It's like a compliment for them, that someone would take the money and the time to really get to know the place.... And, oh yeah. Say "takk" a lot! That means "thank you." If someone does a huge favor for you, say "tusen takk" which means "a thousand thanks!" That gets them right in the old ticker! Now this and the other two books will only get you by if you are visiting. You won't be learning how to really speak Norsk/Norwegian until you delve in deeper. But this is definitely a start in the right direction. To become more proficient, you may want to meet some Norwegians online, like on Facebook, and start talking away... Good luck in all your endeavors!

Great for travel, provides all the basics.
I bought this dictionary to assist in my ancestry research, which travels back to Norway on all accounts. This dictionary is helpful in most translations, however, there are words that aren't in there. I suspect they may be a specific dialect, or I'm just not looking in the right place. I also plan to bring this with me when my parents and I travel back to Norway in the near future. It's a great size, and gives you all the basics, as well as a section with common phrases, words, etc.

Text seems small even for a pocket dictionary...
Its a dictionary from one language to another and back... It does its job. I think its a bit small even for a pocket dictionary.

Good little efficient and competent translation aid
I bought this Norwegian Pocket Dictionary for my teenaged granddaughter, who is no scholar, when she was spending a week's vacation with the family of my daughter's Norwegian exchange student. His younger sister is her age, and I thought it might help them enjoy their short time together. I also bought her Norway - Culture Smart!: the essential guide to customs & culture . She looked that one over before the trip, but elected to take the dictionary along, and the two girls did use and enjoy it. They behaved like two normal kids at first, essentially ignoring one another, but became close if temporary friends when they had a chance to be alone together in family lodgings in New York City. I feel quite clever for having found the two books for her, online and delivered to my door.

Great and Portable Resource
This book is truly pocket sized. For its size I am very happily surprised at the amount of content it holds! There is a very good selection of words which are easy to find due to standing out in a pleasant blue color. There are Norwegian to English and English to Norwegian sections as well as common phrases, some measurements, abbreviations, telling time, numbers and some basic information on grammar. An excellent little book!

This will be very helpful on my trip to Norway ...
This will be very helpful on my trip to Norway; however, my family speaks English quite well. Probably will run into someone who doesn't.

The Norse-English Guide
The book is 150 mm high X 73 mm wide X 16 mm thick. I estimate the font size about 6 pt, way too small, in my opinion. I wish the seller had made in wider and taller and the font size bigger, perhaps at least 8 pt. This would have allowed it to be thinner and easier to read. My vision is quite good, but boy, that font size is just too small, especially if lighting is not very bright. Would not buy it again.

Concise and neat
Berlitz is such a good brand name, I trust their translations and I never have had a problem with any word that I have picked out of here. It's a very good compact book that stuffs in some additional information as well. It's a very good compact book that would fit in your pocket for a trip to Norge if needed.

Dicionário de Norueguês
Pequeno e bastante útil para quem estuda o idioma. Recomendo para todos que pretendem ir para a Noruega e ajuda no caso de estar sem internet por exemplo.

Good pocket dictionary
Good pocket dictionary. I gave three stars because I don't think a pocket dictionary can be great since it only contains a few words, of course, and depending what you need they for, they might not be so helpful. I got this one to start learning Norwegian, so, it's a good one for me.
