They go great with the dovetail base
Well made rings. They go great with the dovetail base. The double screw on each side of the rings is a more solid fit. The ring insert helps to keep your scope from being scuffed or scratched.

I would recommend these rings as long as you're not a perfectionist ...
I mounted a Vortex Viper scope on a Sako 85 rifle in 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. I bought these rings to replace a set of inexpensive Leupold rings because the Leupold rings were a little too low which prevented me from being able to place the Vortex caps onto the scope, and I thought I might as well upgrade to the Optilock system. I would recommend these rings as long as you're not a perfectionist when it comes to ring alignment (see below).Pros:The rings and base are of very high quality materials and the fit and finish is excellent.Cons:The Optilock system has some design flaws in my opinion. If you are a perfectionist like I am, you will get frustrated trying to line up the rings exactly. When mounting my scopes I like to use the Wheeler Scope Ring Alignment Bars, but it doesn't work on the Optilock design because you have to tighten the rings onto the base before you mount the base onto the rifle's receiver. You can't adjust the ring alignment once they are mounted to the base. You have to eyeball it and get it as close as you can which is not as exact as you could if you were able to use the tools. If Sako stamped some alignment marks onto the rings and base or machined a groove into the base with a rail on the rings so that the rings can only fit one way and automatically be aligned, it would be the perfect design.

One of these things is not like the other
I have the Tikka Optilock rings on my Tikka rifle, and I really like them. I haven't put enough rounds down range to provide a long-term evaluation, but mounting your scope in them could not be easier. No tricky alignment dies required, no lapping to do, no chance of marking up the body of your scope, or of applying torque to the scope with an iffy ring alignment. For that alone they're brilliant. I highly recommend them, especially if you have a Tikka or Sako rifle. (The rings themselves are, I think, the same part number between brands, and only the bases change.)But the main reason I felt compelled to write this review, and the reason it lost a star, was the image at the top of the product page. Those are most certainly NOT Optilock rings with the spherical polymer bushing. You can plainly see the complete lack of bushing. What is pictured is the stock type of Tikka rings that come on most new rifles from them these days, and they appear to have a blued finish. I do not know if they come in a phosphate coating. They're made of aluminum, and usually go for around 40 bucks. Please take with a grain of salt, and maybe contact the seller to verify. You can see the real thing here:www . Tikka . fi / optilock . phpSafe shooting!
