I use for my Ducati, so for me it is a motorcycle oil. Motul also makes full synth for automobiles, so if you are changing oil on a car you could get that. I use the 10w40 on a 1997 Mercedes with over 200k miles and have low oil consumption with the Motul

is there any reason i shoulnt use this in my boat?

It's not designed for that operation additives are wrong they do make a product for that.

I highly recommend this product. I have a 2004 Hayden edition Honda RC51 (57.7k mi) and I have been using Motul 300V 4T 15W-50 oil for the past few years. I put in about 5k mi/yr if I'm lucky, but the bike always runs smooth and strong and burns no oil at all. I bought this bike 2nd hand with 3.5k miles and have always used good oil, regular petroleum until about 10-12k then switched to synthetic. I have used Mobil 1 20w-50 and Amsoil motorcycle 20w-50 for a few years each before switching to Motul. I switched because a trusted friend mentioned that although Amsoil is excellent and is always at the top of any comparison test, they've found that it contains too much zinc (I believe), which is not good for certain metals over the life of the engine. I did take the valve covers off at about 35k to do the shims and everything was spotless, literally like new, and the shims were just barely over the service limit. I always liked Motul because I had good luck with the 800 2T premix in my 2-stroke dirtbikes, but now I can confirm that they make excellent high performance 4 stroke oil as well. I live in a desert environment here in Tucson, AZ and I change the oil once a year and it is always still relatively clean. Good oil is a little pricey, but for me it is a small expense relative to the proverbial insurance provided from knowing your doing the best you can to protect your engine. The Ducati Streetfighter is a newer generation big high-performance v-twin with pistons roughly the same size as a Chevy 350 small block, this product is well worth the extra expense with an investment like that. Weight really depends on mileage, I would stick with 10w-40 until your in the 30k+ neighborhood.

Is it good for wet clutches?

It should be fine for a wet clutch it's designed for 4 stroke sport bikes don't ever use car oil on your wet clutch bike FYI
