Amazing relief, and no restricting back strap like most I’ve seen. Love.
This isn’t my first pair, but my second. (First pair got lost in the move) BUT instant relief from pain from my bunions. Mine may not look that bad, but one of my bunions is pinching a nerve.. this releases the pressure instantly!!! 10/10. Will not lose this pair.

Works, but has some flaws
I was looking for a pair of effective bunion correctors and found this option from Frederick Medical Supply. My previous pair contained Velcro straps that would catch on blanket fabrics and slide off during the course of the night. These also contain Velcro straps, but are designed in such a way that they remain on my feet to do their job. I have noticed improvements resulting from their use, and am happy to report that I believe that I've found a solution. I do have one complaint, and that is a poor stitching job on one of the lower straps of the corrector. Within a couple weeks, it had torn from the corrector. This was disappointing to me, as I feel as though this reflects poor manufacturing.Despite the apparent poor construction, I would recommend this product as it has otherwise met my needs.

How to wear the splints (the instructions do not explain it well)
I put 3 stars because I just got these and will adjust the rating once I have a better opinion of them. I just wanted to write a review because the instructions were horrible but once i played with them a little I figured out how they go on your feet, which is pretty much the opposite of what the pictures in the directions portrayed. It took a lot of re-adjusting and I finally figured it out. You want the soft Velcro strip (the strip that the rough velcro strip sticks to) to line up along the side of your foot where your bunion is. The area where the inner arch and the big toe meet... In reflexology it is spinal column reflex area if you want a specific idea of where the velcro felt is supposed to line up. Then you want to pull the velcro strip for your toe in a diagonal around your big toe and kind of above/in the middle of your bunion area and stick it to the back of the splint. Then just wrap the large soft portion around your ankle area and bring the other side around the top of your foot to fix the velcro and hold the splint in place. You should see that your big toes are being pulled a little bit away from your other toes. If you want to increase the distance then pull the velcro that is around the big toe a little higher up and around.I hope this is easy to follow but the pictures that other reviewers have taken help quite a bit. Good Luck! I

So disappointed!
I was so disappointed in this! The great reviews may be because they offer you $3 off your next purchase of this brand to write a review. I thought these looked high quality, and they are, but they don't work. They are nicely padded all around, except where you need the padding: on your bunion and on the inside of your toe. And even if you tighten the thing around your toe enough that it cuts off your circulation, it does not pull on your toe (to straighten it) at all. These are too pricey for them to be so worthless, but worse, they got my hopes up. I hope that everyone else fares better than I!

Great device...and with a silicone gel sleeve it’s perfect
This is the best bunion/toe device I’ve found, but I’ve had to experiment for functional comfort.I’ve tried other tools that provide relief by pushing space between the big and 2nd toe, but they actually cause pain in the 2nd toe. And I don’t see much difference in big toe positioning.Initially, for Dr Fredericks, I wasn’t too keen. I couldn’t figure out the right way to wear it...with the rigid bar under the foot or to the inside? First wore it with the bar under the big toe bones. But it seems to make more sense and work better when worn on the inside of the foot, so that’s how I wear it now. Another issue I had was the edges of the fabric would feel like it was cutting into the skin on my toe in a couple of places, really irritating my skin. It also felt like I couldn’t get it small enough around my toe. Maybe I have small toes? Maybe I have super sensitive toes? Whatever, I couldn’t sustain wearing it for more than a couple of hours while lying down, ie toes barely moving. Tried wearing with some flip-flop socks. But it still felt sharp and additionally uncomfortable because of the thickness of the sock around and between my toes.I tried going back to Using spacers between the toes, but ouch. Then I decided to try Dr Fredericks with some big-toe gel protection sleeves, and NOW it is super duper comfy. Finally. The gel protector (as seen in the picture under the wrap) gives my toe the perfect cushion so I can properly tighten the nighttime toe corrector and there’s no cutting sensation or irritation. YAY! So glad I kept trying.

Helping me heal - one night at a time
Thanks to 12 hour or more days of standing in retail management over the course of 17 years, I developed bunions on both of my feet. I had my first bunionectomy in September 2016 and the other foot was completed in December 2016. My foot is just too flexible, which contributed to the bunions developing along with fallen arches. My podiatrist recommended that I continue to wrap my foot at night after the surgeries in a way that stretched my big toe. Dealing with wrapping two feet is cumbersome. However, these wraps from Dr. Frederick's are perfect. They included colored pictures to illustrate how to use the wraps and they were very easy to understand. I read complaints that the wraps slip off. I wear socks on top of the wraps to help keep them on while sleeping. Keep in mind, if wrapped too tight you will wake up during the night in more pain. I believe using the wraps at night is helping my foot heal properly and my pain has continually diminished. Now, if you are using this correct a bunion - consult a podiatrist first. I waited too long and, as a result, required broken bones to correct. A fix like this may only be temporary. They would know best.
