Very fast and very quit

Bought this for extra space and portability since upgrading my internal HDD was a more complicated option. It reads and writes fast for a non-SSD option and with easy plug-and-play compatibility, you can use it anywhere. I have ended up using it as my primary storage for my photo editing backup until I can get a SSD with the same size for a reasonable price.

I’ve used this external USB drive for two years for my PS4 games and never had an issue.

While this can be used for gaming, I needed to add storage to my Mac desktop with good reliability. I need to transport my content between work and home, and this suited my needs perfectly - no extra power supply required. Fast, Quiet, and (I bought the 2TB model) cost effective storage. Pre-formatted exFAT that both MAC and Windows recognize. Performance is virtually indistinguishable from my internal disk. ***Update: After running this for a few months side-by-side with the WD-Black SSD 500GB model, here's something interesting - I have a 50GB file I want to back up. (source is internal M.2 1TB storage) - I tested both this 2TB unit and my WD Black 500GB SSD. The 500GB is MUCH faster in the beginning, starting off over 500GB / second but soon it slows down. I assume there's some internal caching and it overflows the cache and balances speed to the SSD write-speed. The 2TB platter unit (this device) starts out at similar speed, but eventually balances out as well. 2TB platter average = 115MB / second 500g SSD average = 49MB / sec (note Megabytes, not Megabit.) My workstation is USB3 (3.2 Gen A?) compatible on a Dell 3640 Professional workstation (was Mac desktop and USB 2) So for short, quick read/write the SSD is lightning-fast but for large-file transfers, this 2TB unit sustains write speeds twice as fast. It connected well and the storage are right the amount but It missing 200 GB in it. The download speed is good exactly I wanted. It says it will give me 2 months of game pass in image but it gives me discord nitro.

This has been a fantastic purchase. My PlayStation fills up on storage fast with how large games are nowadays. This hard drive has been a life saver and it was super easy to set up. All I had to do was plug it in and confirm that I wanted it to store games. It is small and thin so it can fit just about anywhere. I haven’t noticed any noise from it and the drive has been great quality.

Works really well i stored a lot on it already and i can move to another computer easily if i want to play my games or make models plus very easy to use.

My son is a gamer and loves his 2T portable that holds all his games. Perfect size to take anywhere. Plug and play no software needed and very reliable .

Gran disco. Conozco la marca de otro disco duro que compré hace años, todavía funcionando, y necesitaba uno de más capacidad para guardar archivos. La copia fue bastante rápida y ningún problema al conectarlo en PC o TV. El diseño es bastante bueno, acabado en aluminio para mayor disipación del calor, y hace poco ruido en general. Trae unas "patas" de goma para evitar que se mueva. Muy satisfecho con la compra.

Ich habe keinen spürbaren Unterschied zwischen der internen und der externen Festplatte bemerkt. Die Festplatte hat ein schickes und robustes Design, das zu meiner PS4 passt. Sie ist aus Metall gefertigt und hat eine LED Betriebsleuchte. Sie ist auch sehr kompakt und leicht, so dass ich sie problemlos transportieren kann. Die Festplatte ist sehr einfach zu installieren und zu verwenden. Ich musste sie nur mit dem mitgelieferten USB-Kabel an meine PS4 anschließen und sie wurde sofort erkannt. Really satisfied with this device, and have always been a WD fan. Quality is solid and they hold up. Works easily as a PS4/5 back up drive, to store games and media. Was hoping to use it with dual purpose to backup laptop data, but when the playstation tries to interface with it, it wants to format and wipe the entire thing. So has to be used as an external gaming drive specifically. Might be a way to dual use it, but I'm not that techie, haha.
