Ready to Paint in 30 Minutes: Landscapes in Watercolour

Great starter book.
I am a very amateur watercolor painter. And this book looks like just what I needed to get started learning again. It has 30 small pictures that you can do yourself. Each of these is given to you on transfer paper so you don't have to sketch it yourself. You just transfer it to your own decent quality watercolor paper by rubbing on the stencils while they are placed on your paper. Or you can trace using a light boxEach small picture corresponds with at least one lesson. Because the pictures are small it will reduce the amount of time on each lesson. And each lesson seems to build on the one prior. I have a small watercolor book and I think these sketches will fit perfectly in there. And then at the end of the book there are three large size watercolor sketches that you can transfer. It looks as though they incorporate many of the previous lessons. The instructions tell you exactly what colors you need and what types of brushes so you really don't have to fly blind at all.The art itself fairly simple. Bu because it is so simple, it's not so overwhelming to think about trying it. I can't wait to get started.

Great for the artist who likes to paint but not draw
I’m a novice watercolor hobbyist and have purchased several books in the series. This book has taught me a lot about watercolor painting and the lessons are simple enough to be confidence building but challenging enough to learn from. I love the tracings and the fact that I can jump right in to painting.

It’s Ok for the price.
This book is on the repetitive side for composition and the instructions aren’t very clear. A beginner would have questions. I realized this book is a bit too beginner for me. I’ll probably learn a couple things from it. Good for practice and easy. I don’t really need to use the drawing to trace. I can easily hand duplicate these pictures and make them larger if I choose. Putting a landscape on a 5 x 7 size paper is too small IMO. I used credits so I didn’t pay a lot for it or I’d return it.

Like the tracings!
Nice paintings, good variety. Tracings very helpful for non drawers or when you want a quick start. Provides some instructions and techniques but this beginner needd more detailed instructions than this provides.

The tip about magic marker was worth the price of the book
The tip about the magic marker saved a portrait I was working on. I was very grateful to have just picked up that tip from this book.

Barely adequate
It is disappointing because the (1) drawings for tracing are simple sketches, (2) the techniques are basic with nothing new to anyone with any wc experience at all, and (3) the art work is mediocre. I had such hopes for more insights and suggested methods that haven't been repeated a gazillion times. I have seen demos by other artists that inspire one to try ideas, etc., but this book is not of that nature.

Great product!
Very pleased with my purchase, it's a really nice book. Bought it as a gift for an amateur watercolour painter. There's quite a number of traceable sketches, which I think they'll find helpful.

Only for the absolute beginner
Was extremely disappointed with this book as it is for the absolute beginner and the name doesn’t give any indication of that .I am still on the learning slope so thought it would be good to try out some landscapes but was not expecting a total dumbed down version for an absolute beginner .

A bit frustrating
Although the description in the book says it’s beginners friendly I wouldn’t recommend it for the entry level. The steps for the drawing are quite short and misleading. The first step of the the first exercise literally says “if want to paint this sky - paint this sky”, then it goes to wide variation of color mixing without any background and for someone without a knowledge in color theory that might be very confusing. The selection of the color in the book also doesn’t include any names of the brands or pigments used, so it might be very tricky to achieve what the same result the author expects. The size of some traces doesn’t seem to meet size of the original works. The author seemed to work on a much bigger scale in some exercises and the traces were less than A5 to save the space.I’ve tried other books in that series and they seemed way more satisfying. The one with Terry Harrison for example is much more detailed.

Pas à pas
Ce livre de méthode d'aquarelle donne des conseils clairs pour débuter, des exemples à suivre pas à pas. En outre chaque projet a les contours reproduits sur un calque en début du manuel, ce qui facilite la reproduction.

A GTREAT BOOK OF of WATERCOLOUR SKILLS IN 30 MINS
I am a student on the Geoff Kersey art course and this book is a perfect companion for extra learning of all Geoffs secret watercolour techniques. A novice when I joined Geoff’s course last March, after following his classes and the skills in this book, I can now complete watercolour paintings that I am not only proud but I show to family and friends and also put up on online art websites and recieve wonderful comments about my work. Using this book helpled me to stick to and build a routine. I completed each task and stuck to finishing my paintings in 30 minuits which at first was not easy but with practise and without realising, I am able to do naturally now. This is a great book with lots of top tips and skills that have helped to make me an artist.
