I wasn't aware when I bought it that it was gonna be about the size of a credit card. I figured it would be at least the size of a small book if not bigger. In fact the only reason I took one star off was because the weighing surface is so small that it's best suited to weighing bite sized foods or very small portions. Still, if you're watching your weight and you need to be able to reliably record how much you ate, it's a good start.Everything about this puppy is small though. Small overall size, small weighing surface, small digital screen, small buttons. If you've got big fat fingers you might want to use a stylus or something to press the buttons though it hasn't been that big of an issue for me just yet. I'm still worried that I'm gonna slip and press the wrong thing, but I guess the worst that could happen is that I set the "tare weight" instead of changing from grams to ounces or whatever.It also doesn't look all that sturdy so if you ARE carrying it with you, maybe put it in some kind of protective case. The only thing it comes with is a plastic cover for the scale surface. It runs on two AAA batteries (included) and seems like it's reasonably accurate, though I don't have any standard weights to compare it to (and I didn't see any way to calibrate it anyway). Overall it's good enough for the purpose I bought it for. I wouldn't want to carry this with me but it's cool that I totally COULD just slip it in my pocket and use it on the go.
