The Boss (Manhattan Records Book 1)

I'm on the fence with this one. I like Ms. Parker writing style and have read many of her books but this fell short for me. Nate is a really a hole to Ashlee! The way he treats her, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It seems all he wants from Ashlee is sex because that's all there is to this "relateship" is SEX!!! He has sex with her where, how and when he wants then just leaves, there is NO dating, NO calling or texting each other....NOTHING but SEX!! Then Ms. Parker throws in a tiny bit of family issues with Nate but we don't ever find out what?!?! Then with Ashlee all we know about her is that she had two mothers, one left because she never wanted kids then the other mom/her real mom had cancer so Ashlee was afraid if her mom died she would be alone at 17 so she goes looking for her real dad who was a sperm donor she finds out his name but doesn't tell her mom she's looking for him. This book is ALOT of sex and VERY little story. The book just end....because there's a 2nd book you have to buy to find out what happens!! I REALLY HATE when an author doesn't let you know that there is a cliffhanger BEFORE you buy the book!!!

This reads more like erotica where the sex is the main part of the story. What little bit of non-sex story there was, is interesting. I enjoyed the push-back between the two--while she liked being sub in the bedroom and the BDSM aspects, she wasn't going to be pushed around outside of it. Though I wished the h could have told him no to the sex after he was such a jerk to her. Instead, she melted with a look despite being mad at him. I also loved the twist at the end.This book could have easily been a five star if it had more romance instead of just sex and wasn't part 1 of a longer story. I'm unwilling to buy book 2 if it is more of the same, even though I was left intrigued about that twist.

Read this in two sessions, only because my kindle had to recharge. Nate had it all exactly how he wanted his life to be, until he saw his employee Ashlee. The story of them NOT being a couple is fast paced, full of ups and downs. Now, I have to find the sequel, excuse me.

This book has just the right amount of hot sex. I like Ashley 's character a lot. Nate is pretty much a jerk and needs a good a@@ kicking. I did like the surprise ending.

Love this author and loved this book. This seemed like such a real life situation for the h and a superior that was the H. Can’t wait for the next book!

I love Ashlee, and despite dealing with someone like Nate, she is determined. Nate isn't so bad, he's just misunderstood. As the story progresses you see sides to him. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

It took a while before I became interested in the hero in this book. Even if he is a Dom, he just came off as another rich jerk! Also the book cover has him as having black hair, but the description in book says he has "white-blonde" hair. After I read more, I decided the heroine had her act together and could definitely handle him! Glad I kept reading!

Nate is straight forward no nonsense when dealing with employees, clients & relationships. When he is done he done; he can come off as a cold hearted (B) but in his defense everyone who gets close to him wants something from him except for his business partner Fin who believed in him and invested in his idea of Manhattan Records. Nates world is turned upside down when he crossed the line with Ashlee from the A&R department. He has more to worry about then a complaint from HR. He has lost control of his feelings &'his heart.

Ashlee Webb works at Manhattan Records , at first she was just a runner but now she had a position in the A&R department . Little did she know that a conversation that she was having with a work college would lead to her life being turned upside down . Nate Lexington CEO and co-owner of Manhattan Records is also a sexual Dominant through and through , he overhears the conversation between Ashlee & her work college which was about his proclivities but while Ashlee was not really contributing to the conversation he knows he must do something to nip it in the bud . Nate ends up suspending the girls , but realising that Ashlee was not too blame, he changes his mind and asks her to accompany him to an event . Things heat up between Ashlee & Nate , at the event and it would seem that although she was a virgin she’s not opposed to the attention of the experienced Dom . Although there’s a lot of office talk about the pair it takes for a misunderstanding to seemly put an end to their activities . The story does end on a cliff hanger of sorts with Ashlee revealing an OMG moment 😱. Can’t wait for the next book in the series .

Another wonderfully crafted tale by M S Parker. Superbly written characters, though I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Nate, and very hot!Kept me riveted all the way through!WARNING this is not the end of Ashlee and Nates story!

I didn't realize this was all the kinky stuff,I'm sorry it doesn't appeal to me but there was some parts that I liked that was the reason i have 3 stars

As always M S Parker has done it again. I love the characters, Ashlee is so sweet but Nate her love interest makes you want to hate him and love him at the same time. It's another one her books that I can read over and over again. Well worth a read.

Another brilliant book by Mary.Loved the storyline and the characters and their connections. Absolutely love Nate and I think Ashley will be a perfect partner for him.Love how their connection is already there.
