Unscented Silk Body Powder - 8 oz Jar

This body powder is okay. They say it’s “silk powder,” but I kind of expected that it would be talc, since their other products say they are talc-free, and this one does not. But the ingredients actually turned out (at least according to the label) to be these four items (in this order):corn starcharrowroot powderkaolin claypowdered silkSo probably not much silk. Probably mostly corn starch. But it does feel very light and silky on the skin. I think it will work fine as a body powder (without the concerns associated with talc), and the kaolin will tamp down shine if you use it as a setting powder on your face.But it’s kind of expensive for what it is. The ridiculous description of “8 oz by volume,” when ounces are a WEIGHT, is really irritating. I’m assuming that they mean that this is roughly a cup worth (which would weigh 8 ounces if it were water), and that’s about what it looks like. They do say in the description that the real weight is only 4.6 ounces, but that would be easy to miss.And it smells like an old lady. They say it’s fragrance free, so I don’t know what about it is slightly stinky. Maybe the kaolin? I don’t know. But it has a sharp, peppery scent that just reminds me of an old lady.And the container arrives with powder leaked out all over the container.Overall, it’s an okay body/dusting powder, except for the smell, price and packaging.UPDATE 11-16-21: I’ve decided to raise my rating of this powder from three stars to five because it just simply works really, really well. I’m still not thrilled with the pepper smell, but it can’t really be smelled after application. You’re not going to have people sniffing around saying, “Where’s that pepper smell coming from?”And there are probably cheaper options out there, so shop around, but if you just need something that WORKS and you need it NOW, give this a try. If you or someone for whom you are the caregiver have issues with skin folds getting irritated from moisture, USE THIS. It dries really, really well. And it doesn’t take a lot. Just a light dusting will keep the area dry and comfortable all day.Definitely recommended.

Body powder has never been a hug factor in my life. I know women who lotion and powder daily - I was not one of them. But the older I get the more care my skin needs.This is a truly scentless powder - it doesn't even have that baby powder smell. The powder itself is fine, it absorbs quickly in the skin and has a silky feeling to it.The only thing I don't love about it is the top of the packagin- it is completely open. I prefer a mesh top of some type for powder - it makes it much less likely that I will have a messy accident.

I am thinking that this product lists its ingredients like food manufactures do..from the highest percentage rate to the lowest...if this is true, this seems to be mostly all cornstarch...cornstarch is not a bad thing...the other ingredients are arrowroot, kaolin clay, and powdered silk...it has an odor but it not a sweet perfumed scent. I have used cornstarch before as a powder as it is absorbent and does not "fluff" like talc does which is not good for your lungs. I guess what I am not excited about is the price of this product but it does work as a body powder.

I'm all for moisturizing, but there are times when nothing beats a nice dusting of powder after a shower or bath!This powder goes on smoothly and I love the feel! It has a fine, silky texture, and while it has no added fragrance, there is a light scent to the actual product, not at all unpleasant.The powder is made in the USA, it arrived well packaged, and it is reasonably priced.Overall, I really like this powder and it is something I would buy again. Recommended and 5 stars!
