I've never used this on anything but grass, but it is by far the best scooper I have ever used. I have broken dozens picking up poop from two Labs, but this is totally different. It just lifts the poop right out of the grass and I can get two to three poops per trip. It appears to be indestructible too, but i haven't had it long enough for it to rust.*6mo later: So after 6 months of use I still think this is the most useful pooper scooper on the planet, just not the most durable. After 4 months or so one of the welds broke that holds the rake to the handle, but the scooper was still usable. A few months after that the second weld broke and the rake completely separated from the handle rendering the scooper useless. HOWEVER, at ~$10 I just bought another one because nothing else comes close to scooping poop like this does. Still it looses a star for durability, if my next one lasts longer maybe I will add the star back.**Over a year later: My second one is holding up great. I have to bump the review back up to five stars for being the best darn pooper scooper on the planet.

(this is for the wooden handled spade scooper) I LOVE THEM! This tool is such a life saver! It is so useful! I had one like this except it has the rake side instead of both flat sides but I broke it! Sigh, I loved that thing and was just lamenting to my dad how much I would hate to see it go because I had it for like 12 yrs! And sure enough I turn my back and lifted up a pile of grass and dirt that was too heavy and it cracked. This thing was OLD as I said but lasted me a long time. I used it for everything! So I went to looking around and grabbed two, this one and Flexrake 54M Galvanized Scissors Model Rake/Spade with 28-Inch Metal Handle this one. So I got this one since it was most like my old one except I got the one with spades/shovel on both sides instead of the little rake bit. And as for scooping poop, wow this one actually does a MUCH better job! I was surprised.I use these little scoopers for all sorts of yard and farm chores. Picking up leaves, grass clippings, cleaning goat stalls, chicken coops everything you can think of. The only concern is of picking up heavy things like rocks or dirt. But you can pick up a TON of material when it comes to leaves and grass clippings. This is a LIFESAVER for me! I get dizzy if I bend down even if I am just squatting down, due to my health issue called POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) so being able to pick up lots of stuff and not get dizzy or hurt my back is so amazing and life saving for me. I can get so much done and not be exhausted or in pain. I am probably going to order another pair just to keep in the barn so I don't have to go get my other ones when I need them.I know this is just a silly "pooper scooper" but it is SO much more than that! I hope to add some photos and some video soon to show you all what these handy things can do. If you have pets and/or a farm or garden or do any amount of yard work, get these things! You won't regret it!Updated with pics! I added some pictures of me cleaning out the chicken coop with grass clippings, then of hay and poop from the goat barn which is also very heavy and wet hay and a shot of mostly goat pellets. You can see otholds them without falling out at all. There are not many tools that can handle goat pellets! Makes farming a breeze!

I bought one of these at a national chain for about $30 almost 3 years back. It lasted fine and probably would have lasted a hundred years if I hadn't run over it with the car TWICE. That's right, two times. The first time it mashed flat but I was able to bend everything back into shape. The second time though the handle splintered near a rivet and when trying to bend the forks back the thing snapped. I'd say that's one tough pooper scooper!As far as how it works, it works GREAT! It took some getting used to when I first got it as it appeared to operate contrary to how you wanted it to. In other words when I'd go to squeeze it shut it opened, and vice-versa. But once I got used to it, it worked like a charm! With some practice, I now can even pick up poops with one hand if I need to (although that can be tricky at first also). The forks are wide enough to be functional, but not too wide where they won't easily go through long grass. They are also very strong metal with a rib in the middle of each fork to help reinforce the design. I looked at a lot of these in stores before buying my first one and this was by far the strongest and best designed model. All wood and metal. NO PLASTIC HERE! Little tricky to pick up the poops that roll into the pavement, but for getting them out of the grass this works great.

The rake does a good job of sweeping up from high or low grass. I do like the strength of the tines on the rake and the curve to sweep up mess into the shovel works very well. It's made of wood handles with aluminum shovel bottom and metal rake bottom. The stick on the shovel came bent alot but I can still use it. I don't think it's worth much more then $10. The day I received it, the price dropped almost $3 from $18 plus but Amazon would NOT credit me the difference because of policy. I'm using the shovel part inside the house with a broom for picking up little pieces of trash and other small items to save my back. Outside, I use an old plastic shovel bottom pickup scoop that used to be inside the house that I bought at Walmart and is all plastic. The rake should last a long while and I hope the shovel does to. The bracket that holds the handle is riveted into the shovel part and feels strong so they might have improved the rivets from past purchases or did quality control to improve taking bad builds off assembly line (yeah right). It is made in China. I took one star off because my stick on the shovel scoop was bent so bad. Hope this helps you out if this is what you need.

Llegó muchísimo antes de lo que esperaba y eso que es importada.Es un producto que compré en EUA hace varios años y se acaba de romper y tuve que reemplazarla y finalmente la encontré en amazon.Excelente calidad!!!!! Probablemente compre otra para tenerla de repuesto en casa

Die Lieferzeit hat unwahrscheinlich lange gedauert. Aber das Teil kommt auch aus Südkalifornien, dort hat es bekanntlich viele Hundebesitzer. Ich benutze es um den Hundekot von dem Ort, wo meine Boxerhündin erleichtert hat zu entfernen und in irgendeinen Busch, wo niemand hinkommt und es auch niemand stört - zu befördern. Es ist auf jeden Fall besser als die Plastiktüten, die verbrannt werden. Ich möchte nicht, dass Plastik verbrannt wird - ich mag nicht mal Plastik. Hundekot zersetzt sich nach 3 - 4 Tagen auf natürlichen Wegen.Doch nun zu der Schaufen. Die Griffe sind aus stabilen Vollholz und die Schaufel aus Metall, da ist kein Plastik, welches kaputt gehen kann. Es kann quietschen, da wo die Verbindung der Griffe sind - aber nicht kaputtgehen.Klare Kaufempfehlung.
