Terry Neely: Amazon Book Reviewer
The book reflects a snapshot of our society from the late 60`s to the mid 70`s as the Dayton, Ohio Police Department tries to solve a serial killer case that is terrorizing the black community. Throw into mix the turbulent years of race riots,VietNam protests, and"Urban Guerrillas" and the result is a very difficult time for the department. The authors do an exceptional job in writing in such a fashion that you will feel like you turned back the clock of time. (OBCI:Ret.)

Unbelievable...But True..
This book is awesome, and I've only just begun. I was in my teens, living in a more peaceful area on the Eastside at the time. Moved to west side in ' 67. Reading this book puts me right there between Broadway & Williams's, my favorite block to visit as the yrs. progressed. Really loved the dime store that was there. Hard to believe all the damage that had been done. I am getting a lot of history about the city I grew up in, and it is good reading. CHECK IT OUT!! ...even if you don't come from the area.. I can't wait to finish the book. I you live or ever lived in this neighborhood you should read this book! Time goes on...but some things never change, no matter how you clean it up.

Dayton History
This is a fascinating book. I found out about it in a local book club. I grew up here about the time this happened, and ( as a kid in high school) I was totally unaware of any of this happening. it was a real shock to me as I am reading it. It continues to show me that some things never change. I wholeheartedly endorse this book to anyone who can read about the unknown side of Dayton, Ohio. I give it 5 stars!

MEMORIES!
I just finished Dan’s book. I was a member of the original OCCU, narcotic squad with Dan and Tony. His book is true to life and paints an accurate picture of what it was like to be a cop in Dayton, Ohio, in the 60’s and 70’s. Reading the book was reading history, of which I was a part. Dan’s descriptions were vivid enough to make me clearly remember events that I had forgotten about.WELL DONE, Leroy.Anyone who lived in Dayton during those years should buy the book. If you were a cop in Dayton......get the book and read it.RBK

Dayton Ohio
A book that so vividly describes Dayton from the mid 60’s until 1975 and explains of what so affected in that time. My parents owned a grocery during that time and is relatively accurate.

I loved it
I loved this book, even though it is not the genre of book I am normally drawn to. I grew up in Dayton Ohio during this time period and have several family members and friends who were on the DPD and saw a number of these events first hand. My sister-in-law, a retired Dayton detective, referred this book to me. She thought I would enjoy the local history refresher. Boy was she right, I loved it. Events in this book are spot on. Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down. Mr. Baker thank you for allowing Blood in the Streets to be purchased for KIndle. sales. (my kindle and I go everywhere together). I certainly hope you have another novel in the works. Thank you for a great read. looking forward to more.Larraine

Historically Significant
As a young, white cop in West Dayton during this period, I witnessed the armed conflict between cultures striving to occupy the same space and time. The physical and emotional casualties were many. Dan Baker and Gwen Nalls have blended their unique perspectives in providing the reader with an eye-witness account of civil chaos. By shining a spotlight on one deranged killer, they cast a floodlight on one of the most tumultuous times in our country's history. Bravo! A very timely book.
