Very nice knife and I am quite happy with it
I got this mostly for chopping veggies. I have a cleaver that I use very often. I love the way I can "scoop" up cut veggies with it, but I wanted something a little more agile and is easier to be precise with. I love to chop up veggies very small for presentation. I like my tomatoes wafer thin, so they are easy to bite through in a sandwich, etc. For my kitchen knives, my typical preference is for value over a name or something pretty. My wife will leave knives dirty or in water, so I have to be careful about the steel and handle material I select unfortunately. So that is my criteria, and this knife seems to be everything I was wanting. It is thin and light which is fine, but I didn't expect it to be as thin as it is. 2/3 of my knives are Victorinox which are quite utilitarian. This little beauty is not as utilitarian, and it even appears to have a small hamon, as though the cutting edge is hardened differently. It is not exotic like a Shun, but it appears to be very nice in a much more subtle way. It came out of the box acutely sharp. I work with a lot of tools, so normally I don't think about it much, but this knife is sharp enough to cause me to ensure that I am focused when using or washing it. Part of the sharpness is due to the fact that it is thin. I am sure a few swipes on a sharpening steel will easily keep it sharp when as the edge wears. I can't really say how durable the edge is yet. I am sure it depends largely on use & care. So in summary, It is a lovely little knife that cuts with ease and precision. I was laughing as I cut up a tomato for a BLT because I was slicing up almost translucent wafers of tomato repeatedly. Being a flat & very smooth grind, everything "sticks" to the blade as you slice, but that is to be expected for a blade like this. For now, I am very happy with it. Next time I am looking for a knife and ZWILLING has one, I'm pretty likely to give it a try. However, if this chips out or doesn't sharpen well or something like that, I'll update this review. Enjoy!

Cuts veggies like butter
Wow - cutting veggies with this knife is like cutting butter. Smooth, effortless and precise. I had to recheck the first potato I cut to make sure I had really cut it, it went so smooth. The blade is thin but strong, the handle sturdy and not too big for my small hands, which is a problem for me with some knives. I was so lucky to get this on sale, but even at regular price, I would want to buy. The only thing I would improve on is a case/sleeve for storage - but that is minor.

No customer service
I ordered this knife to match my other Henkels. All my knifes say they are "ice hardened" and the picture on Amazon also says that, as well as the description. When I received my knife, it did not say that on the blade and I reached out twice to the shipper about this detail. I received an autobot reply on my first response, asking me "how I like my knife" I responded to that with my concern and heard nothing. I reached out again and heard nothing.I like my knife but would never buy again from this shipper.

Our new favorite knife
This type of knife -- known in Japan, I believe, as a Nakiri knife -- combines many of the best features of a cleaver and a santoku in a lightweight and delightfully maneuverable kitchen knife. The blade is extraordinarily sharp, and the Henckels Four Star handle is extremely comfortable to hold, like all the other products in the Four Star line. We love it. It's great for chopping and then picking up what you've chopped and moving it into a dish or prep bowl; also excellent for slicing and other tasks. It's an all-around star, and has become the first knife we reach for when we're cooking up... in fact, we may have to order another one, to prevent squabbles over who gets to use it!
