Great interesting read.
Linda Nochlin, Ph. D, was my favorite professor in college. Reading this volume took me back to the same sense of wonder and sustained interest I felt as a student attending her classes on campus or listening to one of her lectures at a museum. Each article presents a perspicacious view and exploration of an artist/s, their art and historical context. I found it to be a truly enjoyable read written by someone of great intellect and eloquence. All 472 pages held my interest: starting with Maura Reilly's preface, to the reference indices in the back. I truly appreciate a quality printed paperback book - one with premium paper stock, high resolution photographs and sewn bookbinding. Therefore, my review includes a thank you to the publisher Thames & Hudson, for professional quality standards.
