A nice alternative to toting a canteen on your belt.
I purchased this carrier as an accessory with my Nalgene Oasis 1 Quart Canteen in Coyote Brown for when I go on walks or need a source of hydration at work. (Yes, folks. This is JUST the carrier, NOT a set which includes a canteen despite what the stock photos may imply. There's a plethora of affordable selections to go with this, from USGI surplus to the aforementioned Nalgene Oasis bottle.) The carrier itself is a decently made item for the price, although the actual color is more of a desert tan than the almost white color in the photos. I don't consider this to be a detriment, but it's something you'll want to keep in mind if you choose the khaki color. The carrier itself is manufactured in India as per the label sewn inside. The shell is made from a lightweight cotton canvas material with a sturdy, permanently attached shoulder strap that has reinforcement stitching on the sides as well as plastic hardware (i.e. the D ring and buckle). While the buckle allows for a pretty wide range of adjustment, I can't say for sure how well it would work for you big and/or tall folks. The outer pocket secures closed with velcro, and like the interior of the pouch, it's also lined with fleece. I don't know who Rothco thinks they're fooling by saying you can fit a smartphone in there, but it's more than adequately sized for water purification tablets, electrolyte packets, or a couple Nature Valley granola bars. The button snaps are blackened steel (confirmed with magnet) and close securely without showing any signs of wearing out prematurely or pulling out of the fabric. One of the nice things about the fleece lining is that when your canteen "sweats" from condensation, evaporative cooling from the wet liner helps your water stay cold for quite a while. How much? Well, temperatures have been in the mid to high eighties as of the writing of this review, and the ice from the water I freeze in it overnight doesn't melt until the end of my eight hour shift. I'd say that's pretty damn good considering I don't have the luxury of working in air conditioning. All in all, I think you could do a lot worse for $10. This pouch seems ready to withstand all but the most extreme conditions I can throw at it. If you want something even more indestructible or U.S. made, you should consider a USGI surplus carrier, although you'll have to hunt around for new/unissued ones as most of the ones for sale are in previously issued condition.

RothVintage Canvas carry all 1 Qt Canteen
My canteen pouch looks pretty worn....i guess that's the "Vintage" effect. The stiching is not the greatest....it's a little twisted on one side. The BPA 32 oz canteen fits well, snug and snaps in OK. I prefer the shoulder strap....thats a nice feature but....all cotton....not so sure I care about that. Not a quality product in my opinion....you get what you pay for!!! It's OK but probably would not purchase again.

Holds all my gear perfectly
I have not tested this out on a hike or camping yet and when I do I will have a follow up review. Normally I hate when people review something without testing it out but this is an exception once you read below.I couldn't find this information on any of the reviews that I read before purchasing this so I took and chance and it worked out in my favor. The Stainless Steel GI canteen cup, Canteen Shop stainles steel canteen stove and the Nalgeen Canteen will all fit in this pouch together with no problem. I can't vouch for it's durability or comfort yet but I wanted to get this review out there in case anyone else was wondering if this combination would fit. Based on some of the reviews I read on other canteen pouches, some of the original canteen cup wont fit correctly or it's a tight fit. Some say that the stove wont fit with the other two items etc... This however works just fine and it's a somewhat snug fit but not to the point where you have to cram it down so hard that you can barely snap the flaps shut. The material is a little bit stretchy so I would imagine that over time there will be more play in there. I am going to order the US GI Military Canteen cup boil cover from Heavy Cover Inc. when I get a chance and I am betting that I can probably fit that on the very botton of this pouch and everything will still fit on top of it due to the stretchy cotton material. There is also room for a fire starter and pocket knife in the front pocket with a little room to spare for the small bottles of water treatment pills or protein bar etc... This is a soft material so I know that it's not going to be as durable as an actual Military one would be but the fact that it holds all the items I need is a big plus.I bought this because for one I don't like the idea of carrying something this heavy on my belt. Anytime I am camping or hiking I always carry a small concealed pistol and a knife and that is enough weight on my belt already. I thought this would also be easy to take on and off if I needed to and I could wear my pack over it and still use the kidney belt on my pack being that I could shift this around if I needed to.Like I said I will have a follow up review on this item once I test it out but so far for $9.50 I doubt I will be disappointed because afterall this pouch got 4.5 stars out of 57 reviews.Update:This product is still going strong and a very good investment.
