They aren't an exact replacement but they fit the 4.2mm Sony connectors
They only fit one way which is a good thing due to polarity. As I said they're not an exact replacement but as far as I can tell, you can't get the exact plug for any price. And they fit so I gave them five stars. It took about an hour to solder some speaker wire and shrink wrap the solder connections.

Right but not exactly right
Each of the 6 plugs consisted of 3 pieces. 2 pig tail wires (a black and a color), a metal sleeve, and a plastic housing. I think Sony makes this universal kit and I’m glad for that because it does work in my application. My issue is with the metal sleeve, it is not secure in the plastic housing. When I insert the plug into the back of the amp. half of the time one or both of the metal sleeves would come loose and slide out the back of the plastic housing. A simple fix is to glue the sleeve in the housing. But why should I have to quality control their product?

A must have even for your brand new home theater!
This product turned out to be more useful to me than I had imagined. Here are a few reasons why;Any home theater in a box comes with wires with a specific length which are either too short or too long for your room set up. For example the hts I'd brought had rear speaker wires which were a bit short for it reach the wall behind me. Now this was a handicap because I would miss out on the complete surround sound experience if the rear speakers aren't placed right behind me. Initially I thought of cutting them and extending the wires. Doing this could have caused it to malfunction. The other problem was that the center speaker wire and front needed to be only 1 feet & 3 feet respectively but the length that came with my hts was way too long thus making a total mess in my living room. I was in a dilemma. That's when I came across these great set of connectors. First of all they were compatible with my blu Ray receiver. All I had to do was to purchase a 50ft speaker wires, cut & tailor them to match my speaker placement and attach them to these 1' short wires & job very well done. Now I just have used only required wires so they're almost invisible.Job done!! I've now set up a perfect home theater in my living room with a fantastic surround sound.

These will work well enough, but it helps to know what you’re doing
These are not specifically identical to the Sony cables and they’re meant to be “universal“. But I found that they’re able to fit in almost every out-of-the-box home surroundsound system that I’ve tried. You may have to turn them around or even the trim off a little bit of the plastic to get them to fit in the smaller connections. And as a last resort you can actually pull the pin connectors out of the plastic shield and insert them individually on to the pins. In this case you would insulate it with electrical tape which would also help it stick securely. For my particular Sony model that I was donating to a friend, but found myself short of cables, this worked perfectly, and for a fraction of the price of the replacement Sony cables.I hate proprietary connectors and they’re not even necessary for these out-of-the-box systems but for some reason many manufacturers decide to use them. These will fit in miles but not necessarily securely which is why it helps to have a decent knowledge of connecting stereo equipment. You may have to shim them to get them to fit or trim them but if you have basic wiring skills these will be perfect for almost any application.I tried pulling the female connectors out of a regular computer hard drive Molex connector. They are held in together by two tabs so if you squeeze the tabs to pull out but they’re slightly too big to fit snugly over the pins in a home theater connector. They’re bigger because they carry power. So as I said before you can always pull the female pin connectors out of the plastic shield wrap them in some electrical tape and fit them in the stereo if you cramp them a little bit with pliers those fit snugly enough. But this is not something that someone with no wiring experience I will typically be able to handle.

Did the Trick
I had an Open Box Blu-Ray Theater that was missing audio cables, a couple of the cables had the connectors broken off as well. Thought I'd never get my system fully functional....these worked as advertised and were totally compatible with my system.
