Blow it out, leave it, and you will see the white "cleansing and fragrant" smoke. If you want a more intense scent, light the stick again once or twice and shake it off. Palo Santo is mostly used for a quick cleansing or ritual and is not meant to burn and stay lit for long periods. The stick is not meant to be burned all at once; you can use it many times.
