LittleBully, Spotty and Blue-Blue love their Nutri-Berries and Classic Avi-Cakes
This is my 10th order with Lafeber/Amazon, and I have found solutions to the concerns expressed here by bird owners like me. In general, we agree it is a good product. As for my budgies, they can't wait to get their fresh breakfast and dinner servings, so they also agree. I communicated with Lafeber to ask if there was a loose bird seed product available and was told the bucket is a very good choice, in my case, a no loose product available. As soon as I receive the bucket, I learned to transfer the product in sealed containers, therefore, there is never a block of seeds to contend with. I use a chopper to break the little balls and I do this every 3-4 days. My budgies are older now, they have developed the strong beak they need to break up the Nutri-Berries, so I expect I will stop using the loud chopper very soon. In the meantime, they also eat the classic avi-cakes to satisfy their foraging needs; fruits and veggies 2-3 times/week on a skewer and they seem to enjoy that. To encourage bathing, I place whole lettuce leaves in their bath and they eat that as well. That's about all I can share.

Happy happy bird!
My lovebird is obsessed with her "cookies" and I feel good knowing she's getting good ingredients in a treat. As others have mentioned, there was a fair amount of crumbly "cookies" in the container but that doesn't bother me as I sprinkle them on her food often and it saves me the task of crumbling them myself. I think this is due to the softness of the chunks, which I also don't mind. Previous purchases of the smaller bags had hard chunks that were difficult to break up and made them seem stale. This tub has stayed fresh since I got it (months) and I open it multiple times a day. Great for pickup eaters, too!

A favorite morning treat for our Quaker
Our Quaker parrot looks forward to getting one of these every morning! He loves to forage through it and eat his favorite parts. Nutrition and ingredients are relatively good for a treat. It’s a perfect size to fit in one foot for a Quaker. We’ve reordered multiple times due to the great price—though one batch did give us some pantry moths, so now we keep them in the freezer and take out handfuls every couple of weeks in a zip top bag, which keeps them more fresh anyway.

Works for my very picky parrot

Clumped😐
Usually the berries arrive separate in the tub, but this order, and one other previously, not so. I will continue to get them as my bird enjoys them, but they are somewhat costly. Hoping future orders are better!

My Parakeets love these Nutri-Berries!
I am always shocked at how many fussy people exist in this world. The negative reviews are ridiculous! The product is fresh, the berry balls are intact yet moist enough to crumble if you choose to, and my birds love it. Yeah, some of the balls arrive crumbled, but that's fine since I don't want to feed my birds rock-hard seed balls. It would be best if you nay-sayers got a grip; this product is quality.

Nutri-Berries for a long healthy life for your pet birds! (+fresh veggies/fruit, millet)
Edit: the price of this product has doubled in recent years. That’s faster than the rate of inflation. Lower the price on this product Lafaeber! …My 2 budgerigars love eating Nutri-Berries and it is nutritionally balanced with all the nutrition of pellets. I bought Lafeber pellets too but the parakeets more readily eat this stuff. I plan on transitioning their food to human grade foods: grains/seeds, mixed with pellets and giving them Nutri-Berries as a treat. Oh yeah, and a poached egg 1x/month for protein requirements in their diet. I'd rather give my pet birds fresh, whole, living, human grade foods than processed foods. Right now I feed them Nutri-Berries, organic greens, and a little spray millet. I put the greens in a shallow container of water and the birds like to bathe and eat the greens at the same time. Eventually I'll start giving the budgies grated carrot, fruit, and other budgie friendly foods. One thing I've learned is that you have to give your pet birds fresh veggies almost everyday along with a nutritionally balanced food mix like Nutri-Berries. My last budgie I had came down with chronic respiratory wheezing and I learned the cause was a nutritional deficiency from a world class bird vet. Other budgies I've had died within 4-5 years after I was feeding them only seed. They should live 10 years or more if taken care of properly. I think Nutri-Berries is way better than just giving your parakeets seed. Nutri-Berries even contain protein from eggs. The budgies readily eat these out of my hand so I know they love them. I've even eaten a couple myself because they smell so good! My budgies are now almost 10 years old using nutriberries as their main food. Unfortunately one has a diseased liver. Not sure what caused it but it makes me think nutriberries may not be the perfect bird food but much better than commercial seed mixes.

Good product, my conure loves them. They are packed very tight. I found if I squeezed the container around the outside it helped to loosen all the little balls. I thought they were swished and broken until I did this.
